Pleasant hotel in a very central location 5 mins away from the main square and the Ramblas. Not much of a view out of the window (a brick wall), but maybe we just got unlucky. Would stay there again anyway.

El Hotel Urquinaona es uno de los mejores hoteles localizados en esta categoria, una estrella, en la ciudad de Barcelona. El edificio entero, el cual data de la segunda parte del siglo XIX, fue construido acorde con el estilo de la epoca en el vecindario del Eixample en Barcelona; el pre-modernismo. El hotel abrio en el verano de 1999.
Todas las habitaciones estan equipadas con aire acondicionado, television satellite, telefono, frigorifico, caja fuerte y bano complete. Otros servicios de los que puede disfrutar: nuestro propio restaurante y cafeteria ( en el edificio anexo al hotel ).

Superb hotel for the budget traveller in terms of location, service & facilities... We'll be back someday!!! : )

This hotel was located a 5 min walk from Placa Catalunya and the nearest metro station was 20 meters from the hotel door. The staff was friendly and all of them spoke English. The hotel was rated with 1 star but it had everything I needed; clean sheets and towels, working and clean toilet, clean shower with warm water AND more; tv, small fridge and free wi-fi. The breakfast was included in the room price that was reasonable. I can recommend this hotel to anyone who does not seek 5 star luxury service and is comfortable with homey feeling.

In a zone that offers an excellent cultural supply and communications to go to any point of the city.
HOW TO GET TO THE HOTEL FROM THE AIRPORT
TAXIS
Barcelona taxis are easily spotted with their yellow and black livery there are taxi ranks outside each airport terminal building. The journey into the city takes about 20 minutes.
AIRBUS
The bus is called Aerobus and is in blue colour. There is a stop in front of each of the 3 terminal buildings. The bus operates on a loop between the airport and Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is located only five minutes walking from the last bus stop.
TRAIN
There is a bridge with travelator linking the station with the terminal buildings. To come to the hotel you should stop in Plaça Catalunya and then there is a five minutes walk.
