Visitors to Aluna would also be offered the unique experience of staying on a Colombian farm, Entre Rios, in the Sierra Nevada.
Aluna Hotel was designed, built and is run by Dubliner architect Patrick Fleming.
A longtime resident of Santa Marta Patrick’s knowledge of the area and its environs is invaluable to any visitor wanting to use Santa Marta as a base to discover Colombia’s Caribbean coast and the Sierra Nevada.

I booked online and got a very good price, I stayed on an extra night and was charged 40% more for that night.
They don't except credit cards, or any form of card payment.
The website is Glitzy and possibly a bit misleading because it states that is a hotel.
For several reasons I would say it is more hostel than hotel or perhaps more accurately guest house.
There are a combination of dorms and twin and double rooms.
Cleaning of the rooms was erratic. and after a week had to ask for the towels to be changed (the first night no towels were available!!)
Toilet paper always had to be asked for.On my second day the owner told me of for putting honey in my tea telling me that it was too expensive after a member of staff had offered me the honey. If you are any more seasoned than a backpacking student this might put your nose out of joint.
Having said this, the owner is generally friendly and the best feature of the hotel is that all the accommodation is new, the furniture is new and all based around a tranquil courtyard.
In summary; great value, good location and great potential
