Coming to Egypt has been your dream! Your time in Luxor is precious, you've worked hard to get here and I want you to take home happy memories of a relaxed, fulfilled and fruitful trip.

My name is Mara, I'm Irish and my house is 5 - 10 mins. walk (0.5km.) from the back of the train station and 15 mins walking. from Luxor Temple. Once you cross under the train station you leave the hustle and hassle of the city centre tourist area behind you, and get to experience life in a family community where we have our own local baker, butcher, carpenters etc. The children play freely in the street and the adults sit chatting on their doorsteps while watching the world go by.

At Mara House you have your own private bedroom + sitting room and bathroom or you can opt for a private bedroom with shared sitting room and bathroom.

I take no 'commission' from taxis, guides, shops, markets, restaurants etc. that I will recommend. I offer these services but don't push them. This is your holiday and I want it to be perfect!

Breakfast is included and served any time requested.

Rooms are cleaned daily and we offer a laundry service

European mattresses........ I have been told we have the best beds in Egypt!

No bugs, ants or mosquitos!

Bed linen and towels included.

No shortage of hot water.

Free wired internet access in the lobby if you have laptop.

Check-in anytime but your room may not be available until mid-day if the house is full.

Check-out is 11am but you are welcome to use all facilities until you actually leave.

Non-refundable deposit is taken via credit card and 5 days cancellation notice is required.
