Rooms are simple and spotlessly clean, with small private bathrooms and air-con: mid-range facilities at budget prices. The hotel is located on the historical side of Luxor, with exceptional value for its central location overlooking Luxor Temple, River Nile,the Old Souk street (market street) and the Mummification Museum.
Witnessing sunrise illuminating Luxor Temple and reflecting on the water of the Nile every morning is a scene to remember. This place is fantastic, it's located in a small lane, the whole street belongs to the hotel (or seems to) and is set out like an Arab cafe/restaurant - where we spent a lot of time relaxing with drinks and shisha. From the entrance of the lane you can see Luxor temple (literally it's across the road from the avenue of sphinxes) and the back of the lane leads into the market/souks area. The staff were friendly though they did advertise their own tours more than other places I stayed (understandable but less helpful if you just want information on how to do it yourself). Though I did take one of their trips (a chauffered car for two) and it was a very relaxed way of seeing Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Hatshesput temple. It was also very nice to have AC inbetween. Though we were told an hour or so for each - we did that but could easily have spent longer at the VotK and less at the rest (purely because lines were like Disney land),
It was very good value for money, incredible location and good atmosphere, best place I stayed in Egypt.

The staff were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious and the location was very close to all hotspots in Luxor. Had some problems with the hot water but the staff acted quickly and efficiently.
By far the cleanest hotel I slept in in Egypt. Free WIFI. Friendly owner. One of the best.

Wifey and I had 4 nights at Nefertiti in December. Staff are friendly, breakfast is bread rolls, cheese, jam and tea or coffee. We were in rm 308 and due to lay of the tiled floor, when one had a shower the water meanders into the main room and under the bed. We needed 2 towels to build a dyke so that our cases wouldn't be soaked.
The place is clean, cheap. Mohammed does good tours from there so you don't have to go shiffing out someone to give you a tour. DONT miss the hot air balloon ride! It's a must. depending on season it costs about 470 Egypt pounds. But the views are great!
There can be noise till all hours.. cafe next door plays egyptian music which is made to dance to not sleep to and the mosques do a drawn out call to prayer unlike other muslim cities. they draw it out and out and out at all hours in the morning.
The location is great .... right on the corniche. Be prepared for every ma and his child and dog to ask you for baksheesh or tip! Even if they don't actually do anything for you. The wages are worse than north africa so that may contribute to the attitude. there are tourist prices and local prices so be forewarned. The horse and cart drivers will probably take you to your destination via the family shop in the markets!!
Still Nefertiti was a good base for us. They take credit card which is something not all places do. So overall good value for money.

Although I had sent an email the previous day we were not collected from the station this compounded the inconvenience of a very late train. The hotel is reasonably well presented but the entrance from the street is torn up and dirty. The bathroom is barely adequate, no stopper in the washbasin and no shower curtain. Some minor adjustments would make this even better. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The best advice was the tour guide.

The location of this hotel is great. It is located on the hearth of the souk, surrounded by many restaurants, coffee shops and shops. The staff from the hotel are very helpful and they organize many tours at good prices.
The terrace of the hotel has a wonderful view to the Nile and the Luxor temple. The service of the restaurant is good and cheap. Overall is an excelent choice for visiting Luxor.

Great value for this hotel. The location is excellent with a great roof terrace. The place was a little rundown but was clean.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again given the great value.
This place was great. Really accommodating staff who will hook you up with solid tours - but no hassles trying to sell you stuff you don't want. The room was nice and airy and spacious. It's right in the middle of town by the market and the temple but somehow manages to be quiet even with the windows open.
The rooftop was my favorite place in town to relax - it looked over the Luxor Temple and Avenue of the Sphinxes, and the Nile beyond. My only complaint is that as a woman alone, the young waiters there seemed a little over-eager to charm me and chat when I would rather have been reading or writing. But nothing creepy. Just young guys who probably don't meet too many unchaperoned young women.
