Vertigo se abrió en 2007 y esta situado en el tipico barrio de Belsunce, a 5 minutos de la estacion del tren y autobuses, Saint Charles ; y a menos de 10 minutos del « famoso » Viejo-Puerto.
Somos dos antiguos hoteles y una casa privada unificados , que han sido renovados manteniendo el sabor tradicional 'Marseillés' y de ' Provence'. Descubran nuestra atmósfera acogedora, con sus habitaciones decoradas de objetos insolitos ,y su agradable salon.
Aprovechen de su patio, a sol y sombra , de su simpatico bar ; perfectos para charlar, tomar unas copas y relacionarse con todo tipo de nacionalidades.
Ofrecemos una amplia gama de instalaciones tales como , nuestro desayuno « marseillés »,acceso Internet,Wi-Fi en cada habitacion, una lavanderia y una cocina comunes ,a su disposicion .Una biblioteca con revistas y guias de todo tipo..

I loved that Hotel. Me and my friend stayed in a small apartment on the garden. The staff was kind and nice, the hotel was clean and the room was really very cute. The hotel is close to everything but we didn´t like too much the environment during the night. Anyway, we would come back !!

The location of this hostel is excellent only a very short walk from the train station and a relatively short walk away from the harbour. It was very easy to find. We stayed in a private room which was very nice and good value. The private ensuite and the window overlooking the alleyway were nice additions. The communal kitchen facilities were OK. They had free internet PCs and a nice lounge area where we met fellow travelers so the atmosphere was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

Vertigo is a wonderful little place right next to the main train station in Marseille
The staff were very friendly who were more than happy to accommodate any request we had and more importantly had a bit of personality!
The communal areas are clean, tidy and very quaint with plenty of ammenities to cook with etc and a very nice little back garden with several benches to relax after a day wandering round the city. There is also a bar - always handy!
The room was flat out incredible (we wondered why the receptionist said 'oh great news' when checking the booking!). Not grand but a reasonable size, nicely decorated double bedroom with en suite was the room we were directed to on the fourth floor of the narrow hostel. Whilst the bathroom was very modern the bedroom had a quirky, antique with a contemporary twist to it with bright coloured walls and a decent size double bed.
The real surprise was when we opened a back door/window of the room to find a large rooftop balcony spanning the length of our room with the most ridiculously amazing view over Marseille that couldn't be bettered the whole time we were there. The rooftop placed you right in the city whilst offering some quiet seclusion from the hustle and bustle below.
Once we were relaxing with a cool beer watching the sun go down over the port we decided that this was easily the best hotel/hostel room we've ever been in - and for only 60 euros it was worth every cent.
Make sure to ask for the room if you're booking as we think it was the only one of its type in the place; however if the rest are even half as nice then you're in for a treat!

Absolutely lovely. Really friendly staff, great location and amazing for a good cheap holiday due to the kitchen that was available. Only negative was the tea towel needs to be changed a bit more regularly as we were there a week and it remained the same one and the dust under the bed as my girlfriend suffers from dust allergies. Overall a great success and i would stay again if i visited Marseille.
Vertigo is nice, clean hotel on the perfect place. The stuff was friendly and helpful (and they speak perfect english, that is not so common in France). I really enjoyed beeing there :-)
Nice clean room, warm, with attractive decor. Very spacious and clean bathroom with fantastic shower. Pretty descent wifi connection in room. Good location near train station, cheap places to eat and supermarket. One negative that stood out was that the kitchen the hostel advertised turned out to be nothing more then a small fridge and a microwave. The lack of a stove top made cooking meals impossible. Also very thin walls meant that any other noise within hostel is clearly audible in room. As we are budget travellers/backpackers it would have been better if we could have cooked for ourselves and had an included breakfast but we were only there for a short stay and overall it was a pretty reasonable price for Marseille which can be quite expensive.

We stayed there for 2 nights, the hotel was pretty nice, apart from that we didn't have any tv or radio in the room. But that's the small thing, not even important. Otherwise private double room was clean, nice and we'd love to stay there again!
