The new Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" is located at Spata, 29 kilometres northeast of Athens. It is accessible via the new Attiki Odos, a six-lane motorway constituting the Athens City Ring Road.

Public Transport to the city centre:

1. Express Line X94 - connects the Airport with the Ethniki Amina Metro Station. Passengers can transfer from the Airport Bus to the Metro system at this point.

2. Express Line X95 - Airport - Syntagma Square connects the Airport with the centre of Athens (Syntagma Square).

3. Express Line X96 - Airport - Pireaus connects the Airport with the centre of Pireaus (Karaiskaki Square).

4. Suburban rail (Larissa station à “El. Venizelos” airport).

For Express Lines x94-x95-x96, the ticket costs Euro 3.20 and is valid for 24 hours on all public transport means (buses, trolley-buses and metro). The monthly ticket cards are also valid on the above three lines and cost Euro 38.00. For those meeting certain requirements, a discounted monthly card is also available for Euro 19.00.
