In Ivanhoe hostel we take you for a complete experience, visit the city, meet people from all over the world, have a drink and go out by night too!!!
iIf you enjoy the company of many people , and love hanging out for a few drinks, then this is the place for you. Whether you are traveling solo, or with your friends you will enjoy your stay with, with our confortable oomsed! Luckily, we have one of the most comfortable dorm beds in Rome, so this will help ease your hangover the next morning.
Located in the oldest quarter of Rome, the birthplace of Julius Ceaser, just minutes away from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, Hostel Ivanhoe is conveniently located within walking distance to Ancient Rome, which is an ideal location to start seeing the sites (after you recover from the night before!)
Our international and multilingual staff will make you feel at home immediately, and arm you with all the information you need to make the most out of your Roman adventure. We have air-conditioning to summer days and heating to the cold ones. And also a 24hour reception, so you don’t have to worry about a curfew. Checkout is at 10am. We hope you enjoy your stay with us!
Please note before you book:
- This is a youth hostel, so age restrictions apply. You must be between 18-35 years
- Payment can be made by cash only and must be made at time of check in
- Cancellations or changes to your original booking must be made at least 48 hours beforehand, by either email or fax. Please note that phone cancellations cannot be accepted
- Travellers that book with Debit card MUST call before midday ON THE ARRIVAL DAY; the reservation will be accepted only if arrival is before 6pm! If you cannot meet these conditions you may risk losing your bed

Hostel was full of bed bugs. Now I have red lesions on my body and fear that the bags came home with me, which is rather frustrating. Related to the bed bug issue, it's weird that in the afternoon they move everybody's luggage to the kitchen. Wouldn't this increase the risk of bed bug spreading significantly?
Although the location was great, the bed bugs affected our experience in a negative way. Also the parties were somewhat forced and lame, and we had to sleep in the same room as some of the people working there...
A strange guy sneaked in and tried to rape a girl. And the Manager REFUSED to call the police, and he unplugged the phone, so noone else could've call them. After this 4 american guys kicked the **** out of the stranger, so he got in hospital, and they are charged with attempted murder, as it seems. No security.
NEVER EVER EVER stay at this hostel. I cancelled my reservations midway thru my stay because one of the people staying here had an encounter with an intruder who came in the hostel. One guy came in, who appeared to be friends with the owner/workers here, and crawled in the bed with one of the customers here...after she frantically went to the person on duty about the guy, the worker refused to call the police and she had to walk down the street until she ran into a police officer for their help. In all seriousness, If you want to feel secure and not get raped, don't stay here.

A really great hostel, very well located in Rome and with a awesome structure, it is very simple and small but everyone stay in touch and I've meet a lot of people and all of them are interesting. Too have a good price. The bad point is the small bedrooms, but it's ok.
