We wanted a hotel close to Venice (but not in Venice) where we could arrive from Treviso airport late at night and find the hotel easily (which tends not to be so easy in Venice...), which has good transport links to both the airport (via bus) and Venice (via either train or bus). In this respect the Vienna fitted the bill perfectly and based on other good reviews we were looking forward to our one-night stay prior to moving on to Venice.

Our 3 stars Hotel is located next to the Railways Station of Venice Mestre (Mainland Venice Train Station).

All rooms have private facilities, TV, heating, air conditioning and hair dryers. There are public telephones and a vending machine in the lobby and there are laundry facilities just in front of our hotel. We also have a restaurant which serves Chinese and Italian cuisine and a Lobby Bar. Our staff speaks all main Languages.

To reach Downtown Venice, which is 5 kms away, you can choose from a selection of buses or trains that leave every 10 mins nearby.

In this respect the Vienna fitted the bill perfectly and based on other good reviews we were looking forward to our one-night stay prior to moving on to Venice.
The hotel was easy to find about 5 minutes walk from Mestre railway station and check in was quick and efficient, which was perfect given it was quite late at night. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious and had an excellent bathroom with great fittings and a good shower.
Breakfast could have been better but was far from inedible and offered plenty of choice. There was fruit, yoghurt, juice, various pastries, Pannetone, cereals, bread, jams etc plus a range of hot drinks. The coffee, cheese and ham would probably have been considered an insult to Italian cuisine by most Italians, but if you stick to hot chocolate and avoid the ham the rest was pretty good.
Overall I'd certainly stay here again. Compared to the hotel we stayed in in Venice (at roughly double the price per night) the Vienna was superb in what it offered. The customer service was so appalling where we stayed in Venice I was almost tempted to call the Vienna and see if we could book a room for the remainder of our trip! Stay here and enjoy the savings you are making over staying in Venice! Recommended!
