MARCH 2009-WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE RIAD LENA.NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR SOFIA AND THE STAFF THERE. WE ENJOYED THE DIFFERENT BREAKFASTS EACH DAY.IT WAS ONLY BOOKED AT THE LAST MINUTE TO GET AWAY FROM OUR AWFUL BRITISH CLIMATE AND MOST OF THE TIME THE WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL...IN THE SEVENTIES. BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR WE EXPECTED SOME RAIN AND THERE WAS A TERRIFIC STORM ONE EVENING LASTING SEVERAL HOURS.IT WAS QUITE EXCITING REALLY AND DIDN'T SPOIL ANYTHING.

Riad Lena is located eight minutes away from the markets and Jeema el Fna square. The riad has been traditionally renovated with much thought given to your comfort.

A first class riad in the heart of the Medina and markets, with terraces, a swimming pool and easy car access.

The riad consists of 11 air-conditioned with private bedrooms, furnished in pure Moroccan style. All rooms look on to the patio and the swimming pool permitting you to cool down after sunbathing on the terrace with views of the High Atlas mountains.

Breakfast, tea, an aperitif, lunch and dinner a la carte, prepared by our Moroccan cook, can be taken on the patio, around the swimming pool, in the dining room, in the salons, on the terrace and in the bhou.

For Sports & leisure we offer: our Dipping pool (3m x 4m), Massages, Swimming pool, Beauty treatments.

Among the services available, we have: Car with chauffeur, Dry-cleaning service, own Restaurant and Airport Pick Up (at extra cost).

BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR WE EXPECTED SOME RAIN AND THERE WAS A TERRIFIC STORM ONE EVENING LASTING SEVERAL HOURS.IT WAS QUITE EXCITING REALLY AND DIDN'T SPOIL ANYTHING.THE DAYTIME WAS FINE DURING THE SEVEN DAYS WE WERE THERE.
WE HAD A GREAT TRIP UP TO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS WITH A TAXI DRIVER (JALIL) ARRANGED BY SOPHIA. HE WAS EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY, GIVING US ALL THE HISTORY ABOUT MARAKESH EN ROUTE. WE WERE SORRY TO SAY GOODBYE TO HIM. ANYONE WANTING TO DO THE SAME....ASK FOR HIM!IT WAS A STRANGE EXPERIENCE BEING IN WARM TEMPERATURES IN THE MORNING, THEN FIVE HOURS LATER STANDING IN A FOOT OF SNOW BEING HAILSTONED AT THE SKI RESORT. DO TRY IT!
IT WAS A FASCINATING AREA AND WE ENJOYED GOING THROUGH THE STREETS TO THE SQUARE...ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THE CONTINUAL PRESSURE FROM THE STALL-HOLDERS WHEN WE GOT THERE, BUT AFTER A WHILE YOU GET USED TO IT, BY PRETENDING TO BE DEAF OR SAYING YOU ARE FROM ICELAND! IF YOU SAY YOU SPEAK ENGLISH OR FRENCH YOU CAN NEVER SHAKE THEM OFF!
ALL IN ALL A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE WHICH WE WOULD LIKE TO REPEAT IN THE FUTURE. CANNOT RECCOMEND RIAD LENA ENOUGH.
