Vous donnant tellement pour un coût si faible, la Shelter City est sans aucun doute la meilleure affaire d'Amsterdam !!!
L'auberge se trouve en plein centre, à quelques pas de la gare centrale. La plupart des lieux touristiques se trouvent aussi à courte distance à pied.
La Shelter Jordan se compose de dortoirs non mixtes de 14 à 20 lits. Les dortoirs sont divisés en petits boxes pour plus d'intimité. Nos petits prix comprennent le petit déjeuner, les douches chaudes et le casier. Avec des prix à partir de 16 euros, c'est la meilleure affaire en ville.
Vous trouverez bien plus qu'une bonne nuit de travail à petit prix. L'auberge a non seulement d'excellent équipements, mais aussi une ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante. Tous les membres de notre personnel parlent anglais et seront heureux de vous aider ou de vous dépanner. L'auberge comporte aussi une cour et un café ou vous pouvez boire un verre ou grignoter quelque chose, décompresser et rencontrer des gens du monde entier, ou bien utiliser internet.
L'auberge se trouve dans le quartier tranquille et pittoresque de Jordaan, proche de la maison d'Anne Franck et des places Leidse et Dam.
Informations importantes :
• Pas de fumée ni de drogues ni d'alcool dans notre auberge ! (cigarettes autorisées dans la cour)
• Dortoirs séparés hommes-femmes
• Le couvre-feu est à 2 heures. (Aucune entrée à partir de cette heure. L'auberge ouvre à nouveau à partir de 7 heures)
• Nous recommandons notre auberge aux personnes entre 15 et 40 ans.
• L'utilisation du casier est gratuite, mais il vous faudra payer une consigne entièrement remboursable de 5 ou 10 euros pour la clé.
• Nous demandons 2 euros supplémentaires par personne pour les draps (obligatoire).
• 2% de frais supplémentaires pour les paiements par carte bancaire.
- Si vous désirez annuler votre réservation, envoyez-nous un email ou téléphonez-nous avant midi (le jour de votre arrivée initialement prévue), sinon nous facturerons votre carte bancaire pour une nuit d'hôtel.
• Petite comparaison avec notre auberge jumelle à Amsterdam, la Shelter City: la Shelter Jordan est plus petite (104 lits), accueillante, et se trouve dans une partie du centre-ville plus calme.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellations (of part or of the whole booking) must be made online/by phone/email before midnight two days prior to arrival date. If any guests fail to do so or do not show up, one night’s stay is charged on their credit card. The same rule applies when an arrival date is changed online, by email or phone.
If this is the case you will notice on your credit card statement the following name: 'Tot Heil des Volks', which is the assocation that will charge your account on our behalf.
If you contact us to cancel your booking you must give your booking number (starting 643- ) and arrival date.
Example: you should arrive on Wednesday. To avoid being charged you need to cancel before midnight on Monday. Cancellations on Tuesday are too late and you will be charged for the first night.
Multiple booking policy:If the same name, e-mail or credit card is used in multiple bookings for a total of more than 8 people on the same day then we will apply our group payment and cancellation conditions to be found on www.shelter.nl
Bookings of up to 20 people are accepted via this site, for more people please e-mail group@shelter.nl
We reserve the right to cancel online groups of more than 20 people.
If the group booking is just for one night and is on a Friday, Saturday or one of the following dates around public holidays, then an extra charge of 5 euros will be made per bed booked: 21/24 April, 1 May, 1/2/9/12 June, 28/29 December 2011.

Very friendly welcome. Great location in the centre of Amsterdam. It may look a bit expensive but great breakfast is included. A few computers with veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy slow internet connection. It is a Christian hostel, but not in-your-face Christian: there are bible readings and prayers for those who seek it, but if you don't: you're just as welcome.

this is avery nice and clean hostel. but it might be a little bit too expensive. but if you book in time you can get it cheaper! overall a very good hostel with kind personal staff.

Hotel Jordan is an easy to reach location about 15 minutes walk from the Dam Square walking in almost a direct line, and is only a few minutes with the tram.
The facilities are kept clean, and there is a large bathroom on each floor. There is excellent facilities to keep your belongings safe, a personal locker, and a room next to the reception where larger belongings can be stored. Despite this, there seems to be a relaxed atmosphere between workers and guests, and not too much concern about theft, although precautions are taken.
The Cafe is both a dining room and a lounge, drinks being sold through the evening and also small snacks for a reasonable price. The volunteers at the hostel live on site and spend time in this cafe too both working and just spending the evening. As such, this hostel is a nice place to spend some time awake at, and not just sleeping after a day of exploring the city.
I would recommend this hostel, and will be sure to return there in the future.

The hostel is well located and that was my main reason for chosing it - The room was clean and the bed OK - washroom and toilet were good too - I had the cold breakfast which was a bit disappointing - the one with pancakes looked more substantial
My critisism concerns the staff - as the hostal has a no smoking and drinking policy - on the night I stayed I returned to my room in the evening to find the room full of dope smoke and a semi conscious room mate on his bed next to a half emptied bottle of red wine - and a whole stash of unsmoked weed - it was virtually impossible to breath - and an other younger room mate was looking very sheepish - On reporting all of this to the reception staff - someone came up to the room, removed the offending articles but made no offer to move any of the other residents into another room - consequently we had to spend a freezing cold night with the windows wide open
The next day after checking out - I returned to the hostel to pick up my bag which I had left in the [so called] secure baggage room - my co resident found that his bag had been moved and his laptop had been stolen - despite the fact that the reception desk is right opposite - when I asked if I could go into the cafe area to exchange addresses I was told that this was not allowed since I had already checked out - my friend was upset about the theft and was shown very little sympathy - and directed in the direction of the nearest police station - since my train journey was 2hours later I was literally walking around in the rain for the next 2hoursby all means stay at this hostel for it's location and cleanliness - if you are a Christian even better - but in my opinion don't expect to find much Christian spirit
Its a very nice hostels, clean and with great facilties... but be aware of the fact that it is a christian hostel... so is verey different from the city enviroment. I admit it was quite strange to be in a hostel like jordan in amesterdam.
if you are looking for a quiet( girls one floor, boys in another) , clean and nice hostel, jordan is the place.

Very central; clean and safe place; muesli breakfast very nice; also a hot breakfast option looked good; some groups of people were noisy, so its not always quiet at night;
