Location is not bad, close to bus stop. However, towels and blankets should be replaced. towels are grey and blankets are all fussed. Bathroom is ok except the showerhead is plugged up. Kitchen is small, dishes are mostly chipped. Next room tenants very inconsiderate, very loud in the middle of the night still skpeing. Room is very small and you can hear every single sound.

We arrived at the apartment and were greeted by Jordi the care taker who showed us our room and the rest of the apartment. He then spent about 45 minutes taking us through maps, local attractions, restaurants, public transport and almost anything we needed to know about Barcelona. It was so helpful and made such a difference to our stay there. The apartment was perfect for our needs and had a great outdoor terrace with sun lounges and small gazebo. The only let down for us was that the bed and pillows were very firm and not that comfortable. Otherwise the place was wonderful and I would definitely stay there again!

Jordi was very helpful and informative, he even provided us with maps. The biggest drawback to the property was the hill. I was traveling with my grandparents and we were not aware that the property sat at the top of a steep hill and then you had to climb a narrow staircase to reach the inside of the guesthouse. It was difficult and hard and me and almost impossible for them. Definitely a place for very young, athletic people not those with leg, knee, or walking difficulties.

The hostel is not far from the gothic old town (20 mins on foot) and really close to parks on Montjuic hills and the Magic fountain.
The main part consists of the living room, the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Also there is another separated bedroom on the higher floor. Be aware that your bathroom is not really private, it is available through the living room, however for every bedroom there is one "private" lockable bathroom. For budget travelling, the apartment offers everything neccessary (equipped kitchen, refridgerator, ironing machine etc.)
Bedrooms are slightly wet, cleanliness is not perfect.
The terrace looks ok, but was under reconstruction during our visit, so full of dust.
Well, for 50 euro/room/night it was ok. Count with the fact, that you share facilities with other people, you do not have a real privacy. In our case, two guys from Finland were calm and totally friendly. In my oppinion, the best value of the hostel is for 6 friends, when they book the whole house.

Montjuic is a very nice guesthouse situated in a nice quite place, not far from the center of Barcelona. In this place you feel like you are at home. First of all I want to thank 1 million times Jordi, the man who come to welcome the guests. I never had such a great welcome in my life like Jordi did, and I I travelled really a lot in my life. He has been almost 40 minutes explaining to me and my wife where to go, what to do, how to reach the places....when he finished I was drunk of all the informations!
From Montjuc you can reach the center of Barcelona on foot in 15 minutes. The metro is only 5 minutes walking from the house. The room is nice, little, with all the comforts that you need, from the television to the airconditioned, to the hair dryer. The bathroom is little but very very nice. From my room I could go directly to the terrace, a beautiful place with tables and chairs, where you can relax and have a romantic dinner. For all guests it is possible to use a kitchen too, with fires, microwave and a refrigerator and all the things that you need for cooking. If you need there is a flatiron too.
The cleanliness was enough good, anyway Montjuic is really the best place for spending in Barcelona a great holiday, I recommend it to everyone.

We arrived expecting to be taken to the private apartment because that is what we thought we had booked. It seems there was a problem with the booking and they gave us a double room with a private bathroom but with a shared kitchen / lounge with 2 other double rooms. We were disappointed but after talking to the owner of the apartment (Jordi) we were happy to take the room. The place was clean with all of the right mod cons (air con, heated towel rails, microwave, fridge freezer etc.) I would highly recommend for winter or summer, great views and wonderful terrace balcony. Jordi was very informative and friendly just keep an eye on those bookings websites always triple check that you are getting what you are expecting!
