Baracca Backpacker Aurigeno is a tiny Hostel with only 13 beds,but

unlimited access to the peaceful outdoors and home-like atmosphere.

Situated, off the beaten track, in the beautiful Maggia Valley in southern Switzerland (Ticino), just 13 km. north of the lake maggiore,

Locarno and Ascona.

The Mediterranean climate and Italien lifestyle makes Ticino,the only

Italien-speaking Canton,to one of the most popular destinations in

Switzerland.

Hidden among chestnut trees,waterfalls, and dozens of lakes in

Ticinos largest valley, Maggia Valley,is the village of Aurigeno.

Enjoy your-self in our unique ,lush garden, beside wooden sculptures, waterfall,and with wonderful views to the historical church and the surrounding mountains...

Use for cooking the fully equipped kittchen facillities and try some of

our fresh herbs in the garden.(We provide many different kinds for free)

More then 700 km. of hiking-trails awaits you and we like to help you,

to find the right one for your own personal level.

Or rent a bike (10.- chf. per day), to explore the area and to reach

incredible bathing-spots at the Maggia River. From small gorges, till

deep and emerald green waterpools with sandy beaches.

Even more refreshing, after a long hike in a wilderness nature, is only

a jump into the water-pool from the waterfall with his crystal-clear

water, just a 10 min. walk from the Hostel...

Our Office-Hours: 9am till 11am, and from 5pm till 8pm.
