I had previously stayed at the La Sablonniére back in 2000 at the start of an 18 month stint in Brussels. I was pleased with it then it had been pleasant, comfortable and clean not a Sheraton but was adequate for my needs. This is why I chose to stay there again.
This was not the La Sablonniére of my stay in 2000 - quite the reverse in fact.
The room was small with a narrow single bed (possibly a child's) which was comfortable. the bedding was a little threadbare but was clean.

The room was small with a narrow single bed (possibly a child's) which was comfortable. the bedding was a little threadbare but was clean. Their was nowhere to hang my clothes other than a coat hanger with multiple arms. In the fridge I found the remains of the previous resident's take-away meal.
The en-suite bathroom was very narrow with a sliding folding partition door.
The only good thing I have to say was that the shower was powerful and was and there was plenty of very hot water if needed.I am sorry to have to be writing the review in this vein about an hotel that has been allowed to get run down when previously it had been a good cheap hotel
