I was given a room - single - that could not be described as a room and more as a cell. however inmates do have more room and things in their cells.
there was only space for a bed which was very noisy just by pushing onto it, furthermore it did not seem to have stable legs (a bit askew).
i could not stretch my arms without touching either side of the wall. that how large the cell was!
at the bottom of the bed, there was not enough room for my case (and it is not a very wide one!).
there was a flourescent tube for light just above the bed - the kind you see in bathrooms above the mirrow. also 5 hooks and a fan on the ceiling. the room had a very small opening for light - too small to be called window- and the same on the door.
no shelves or anything else.
although i knew bathroom was not in the room, i did not expect the toilet to be separate from the shower.
pictures on the web are very deceitful. also it does not make it clear it is a hostel.
furthermore it asks for a 'deposit' and a 'balance'. and in fact the deposit is a one off payment non-refundable that goes to the Hostel company. and the 'balance' is actually the full amount for the room/cells.
i was shown into my room and left to it. when i went downstairs to enquire about shelves in the room/cell the person that had shown me in had left (less than 5' after i arrived) and the person around was not clear if he was a guest or someone involved with the place. to any extent he was not interested in me or my room/cell.
i left and went to meet some acquientance who told me things were quiet in town and helped me to find another place to stay (a proper Riad with a decent size room).

when i went back to pick up my stuff and move, i had to deal with 3 different people, one was fairly aggressive. Only at the end the one responsible arrived.

the web should clearly state it is a hostel, not a riad and give room measurements as the pictures are all very deceitful.
Horrible experience.

Amazing people!
Clean, close to the 'Jemâa el-Fna' square, but so quiete.
It's like home, i would recommend this place to people who love to discover how the moroccan life is. The rooms are large enough to sleep, otherwise i've had the pleasure to know and speack with the other guests on the little terrace and in the the dining room. Very kindly service!

Good location, but definetely call the hostel from Jemaa el-Fna (the main square) for the pick up-it is very close but if you are there the first time it's difficult to find and you'll end up paying a local guy for sowing you the way. Nice atmosphere, welcoming hosts, but we had to pay more than we were supposed to according to our reservation. You could wait in a line for the breakfast as there are only two tables; but the food and the lady serving it are nice. The place is well cleaned every day.

I arrived here on my second day in marrakech , its tucked away on a narrow street just off the main square near the enterence to the souks. You will not be able to get there by taxi as the street is too narrow. best to get a taxi from the airport to the main square then I paid a guy to push my bag through the streets on a cart , they are easy to find. I offered him about 10 mad and he took me to the front door. The staff are friendly but most speak french and limited english but enough to get buy. I arrived early and was greated with freshly squeezed orange..just what i needed after a hot day!.
The raid has a very laid back atmosphere kinda great for travellers just wanting somewhere to rest after a busy day. Its clean , the room had alomst like hospital feel with a big metal door but great to lock the busy city life out and feel safe. There is a small roof terrace. I had the single room , very basic with a shared bathrrom and shower but as all the other rooms have own bathrooms i kinda had mine to myself as well.
Its worth taking ear plugs and so central and near to the main mosque so the calling goes on through the night.
I really enjoyed my stay here you really are right in the middle of everything and start to feel like one of the locals. On the day I left they looked aftre my bag during the day as my flight was not until the night time. really good value for money

Nice place with nice people working there. Very close of the plaza, just 3 minutes walking.
