I would like to take this time to thank you and the staff of Hotel Karma: Keshab Lamsal and Aryal Rachu for their outstanding customer service.

When I first checked in, I had only planned to stay for a day, but was exhausted by my trip to India, and subsequently stayed for 4 days.

During that time your staff was most accommidating and patient, helping complete my itinerary ie: a tour of Kathmandu and airline tickest to and from Lumbini.
Their help proved invaluable to me.

On my next trip to Kathmandu I would definately stay at Hotel Karma, again.

Well,
after having travelled through Nepal for two months I have seen a lot of Guesthouses & I really have to say that the Hotel Karma or "Karma Traveller´s Home" (how it is called now) is one of my favorites.It for sure is always possible to find a bigger hotel with more luxury or a bigger rooftop, but i guess not for that prize ( which bye the way variates according to your capabillity to negotiate ( like everything else in Nepal):-) and not run by such friendly people. I can´t copy that the guys from the trecking ageny in the house would have tried to convince to do something (like someone in front of me wrote here)...beside of greeting them. However, for me the most important point that made me come back after each trip through the country was the staff of that hotel. You fully can trust them, they help you with whatever problem you have and you can store there your loggage securely for a longer time without additional costs (+ they are friendly :-). Fazit: Thumbs up for you guys & thanks for the nice time!

We were very disappointed when we arrived. The bathroom was nearly falling apart and when I wiped the toilet seat with a piece of toilet paper, it was very dirty. But the worst part of our stay was that the hotel is somehow affiliated with a trekking/tour agency. They are very, very pushy and persistent with trying to sell you their treks and guides, which are overpriced. There are way better prices to be found in Thamel. For instance, they told us that it was "impossible" to rent bikes to get around town; you absolutely can do it but they wanted to sell us a car and guide. In less than one day they had approached us three times to sell us something. We were supposed to stay there for about a week, but ended up leaving after only one night because we were very frustrated.

Room description on travellers point did not match reality. Hotel owners quick to supply additional bed on arrival however. Pick up service from airport well organised, but had to be paid for as additional services not booked through hotel. Plumbing intermittent operation, but worked better on return visit at end of trek. Overall reasonable experience, getting what you pay for.

Booked room on internet but on arrival were taken down street to a guest house that was much inferior. When asking for explanation we were told that Hotel Karma was full so they had found us somewhere else to stay. We pointed out that they had emailed us to say that a room was available. They then apologised and gave partial refund.

mmmmmmm firstly i was really scared to find a hotel, waves n tides were frequetly arise in my mind but all the sudden i found a place called hotel karma and i booked in, the first impression for me was the airport pickup in their own taxi,,,,,,,,,after i got there in the hotel ,,the location was fabulous ,in a busy thamel to find a hotel like this really blow up my mind,,not kiddin .....the staff were so friendly n the hotel manager and owner are like own frien,,,,,,,,,all the facilites were on the top,,,,everything was easily accesible.........i m an ausralian resident so i waanna say to other guys if u really wanna stay in thamel ;;;just book on for hotel karma ,,,,,,,,,,u will remember this hotel a lot

Hotel Karma is located right in the center of Thamel, very close to everything you need. It is easier to buy all the stuff you need in Nepal, including suviniors, food, clothes, and all the facilities you need for travelling in the great country. We met really nice and helpful staffs in the hotel who are always ready to help out, even in the mid night. The rooms are very clean, nice and spacious comparing with other hotels in the area. 24 hours hot water plus good advice of travelling around the country by the managers. We are from China, so the GM recommends us a very good travel agency for us to books the tours in the country and and we are very happy about the price we got from the agency. In terms of the hotel rate, we have compared the rate with other hotels in the areas, you cannot find a better price for the quality you get. Yes, we would definitely recommends Karma to our friends and would be happy to stay there if we are back Nepal in the future.

A decent priced room for the heart of Thamel. The room was a little noisy being right by the road. The staff were helpful taking care of my excess stuff while hiking. Good spot for the party.
