We stayed here two nights and our experience on both nights was markedly different. The first night we were on the third floor, in a double room, with basic facilities: shelves, wardrobe, lamp on each of the two single beds, curtains on the windows, a desk and two chairs. Nice for a hostel. however I found a small blood stain on the pillow which annoyed me a bit - though admittedly it was old and not fresh, and it had been washed since - it was dried in.

The hotel do provide everyone with a fresh pillow case, which was clean, and sheets which were also clean, so I have no real concerns on the hygiene front. However we were awoken with construction works at 8am, and noise generally is a problem with the walls quite thin. You might say most hostels are like that anyway and I admit that hostels are not really a place to bed-down for a good nights rest.
The breakfast was not included in the price, at 7 Euro each it's very expensive, and the local supermarket, two tram-stops away was a better option for us. Also service in the restaurant which annexes the hostel was slow for dinner and we left unattended after waiting 10 minutes (though admittedly there was a large group in)
The second night was completely different, the private room was on the sixth floor and the condition would rival any budget hotel. It was probably the best room we stayed in all week (we interrailed across Finland) and we were really surprised.
Also look out for the kitchen facilities which are really good, really nice kitchen, lovely bright colours and big tv hanging from the roof, a real gathering point. Overall, this hostel is grand - would recommend it. (ps. location is excellent, brilliant, romantic view over harbour across the road)

Great location. I've stayed in far better hostels around the world but it certainly felt safe and secure. I think the price was very high for a hostel but then that is probably just Europe for you!
My room was basic but very clean but the bathrooms were really under par and could have been much cleaner - perhaps all one can expect when sharing facilities.
I gave up trying to use the kitchen - no kettle, hotplates that didn't seem to work, no cups or mugs available.
Sauna is a great facility - enjoyed starting the day with one.

Me and my wife stayed only one night in Eurohostel. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to check all the hostel facilities because we were tired after long journey and went to bed early. We had a twin room (Eurohostel room) which was very nice. There was enough space, the beds were easily to put together and everything was very clean and comfortable. The hostel staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all the Eurohostel left very good impression to us and I can recommend it to all who want to spend few days in Helsinki without paying too much for accommodation.

Good location but need more cleaning.

Decent hostel as far as European big city hostels go. The location isn't the most convenient, but also not terribly bad. My biggest gripe with this place are the showers, which run for barely 10 seconds before you have to press the water button again (which gets old really fast!). The showers also lack a good place to hang your clothes or towel (there's no private changing cabin or anything; just a few hooks scattered throughout the larger bathroom).
Rooms are clean though, staff is friendly and helpful, and if you stay for four nights or more, they have this package deal with cheaper nights that include free breakfast, which makes for decent value.
