How to get here
Take the metro to the Acropolis, exit to Ath,Diachou St, walk 30 metres, turn your 1st left and you're there.
Or walk down Vas Amalias Ave from Syntagma Square as it turns into Syngrou Ave go right into Dionysiou Areopagitou (the marble walkway almost opposite from the pillars of Hadrians Arch) and second left into Makri St (approx 7-10 min walk from Syntagma Square).

I've stayed at Athens Backpackers twice now and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Athens. I am a 20-something year old female who was traveling alone and I felt completely safe. The location is great! The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful! The rooms (and apartments) were fabulous and clean...everyone I met was super nice!
AB offers a great little breakfast (and excellent coffee) and for only 6 euro I joined their wonderful walking tour. I also don't know any other spot in the city that has such an incredible happy hour deal: watching the sunset over the Acropolis!
Again-great place! I will absolutely stay here again when I'm in Athens!

My first trip on my own and stay in a hostel for the first time ever, but have to say I have had such an amazing time that I didnt want to leave! The staff are amazing, very friendly, cool and helpful, the rooms are nice and clean, overall fantastic and def would recommend to others. Doing the island hoping for couple of weeks, but booked one more night in there before I leave Greece as I want to go back..

We where here for only one night but if we had known it was this good we who have booked for much longer. We bookend regular dorm rooms, so we thought, but we got a room the size of a mini apartment, with even a small kitchen in it + a tv and sofa. We were very content with it and the service was also great, the people were very friendly and helpfull. I strongly recommend it!

The best part about this hostel is the location -- just a couple of blocks from the Parthenon! Also easy access to the subway at the Akropoli stop. The hostel itself is not great. It is rather old and not particularly clean; a little grungy. But the value is worth it, especially in a city where hotels are so expensive. The staff were really helpful, and there are several daytrips and walking tours organized through the hostel. Free wi-fi was a benefit, as was the luggage storage (although it is not in a secured room). I didn't take advantage of the free breakfast or the bar. Overall, I would stay here again because of the good value and location, but it was not the nicest hostel I have stayed at.

Great Roof top bar with a good view of the acropolis. Happy Hour Rocks too... 1 euro beers and 2 euro spirits!!!Only complaint (which is minor), is that we went on the day tour to Deplhi with the hostel. It cost 50 euros which was not the problem, the problem was that the tour guide was unlicensed so she was unable to enter the ancient sites or musuems and explain to us what things were.
This was a definite shame as Deplhi is AMAZING...would have been good to have more of an understanding of the history.Other than that...my stay was fantastic. Thanks Athens Backpackers!!

Stayed here for 4 nights, had an absolute blast. very close to the big sites in athens and easy to get anywhere else via tram or bus. love the roof bar, some good times were had. very friendly staff aswell made it a very enjoyable place to stay. Cheer guys!!!
