We stayed at this hotel a few days in August 2009. The hotel itself and the room was not very clean. There were hairs all over the bathroom and the room. Also the shower has no curtains, which made it a problem to take a shower.
The hotel is a few steps away from the subway station Omonia.
The lift made a lot of noise; because of this we didn't trust it and took the staircase.
The hotel is in a really terrible neighborhood. There are drug deals, etc. in the square across the street at night.

The downtown location of Claridge Hotel Athens makes it an ideal base to discover all that the city has to offer.

This property is set in the heart of Athens, at Omonia Circus in a pedestrian zone, only few steps from metro, electric railway, buses and trolley buses. The hotel is located only few steps from museums and archaeological areas, theatres, cinemas, centre market, Plaka, Monastiraki, Psirri and all the cosmopolitan areas of Athens.

It has been totally renovated in 2003 and it has offered hospitality during the period of Olympic Games in 2004 to members of Olympic Family and foreign journalists.

This 2 stars hotel has 53 air-conditioned single and double bedrooms that are comfortable and well-equipped to make your stay relaxed. The rooms have shower, color TV, room service limited and some rooms have balcony.

The hotel is in a really terrible neighborhood. There are muggings, drug deals, etc. in the square across the street at night.
When I got to the hotel, my sheets were visibly dirty and there were hairs all over the bathroom. I had to fight with the manager just to get him to change the sheets, and I eventually left and went to stay somewhere else. Despite the low price, you should really consider staying somewhere else -- especially somewhere outside Omonoia.
