Located in Japan's Shikotsu Toya National Park, the Hotel Kawanami offers reasonably-priced accommodations in a beautiful setting.
The hotel is situated on the shore of Lake Toya close to many attractions. In addition to the lake (with water sports such as wakeboarding, water skiing, motor boating, and fishing), the hotel is near two active volcanoes (Showa-Shinzan and Usu), the Pacific Ocean, a golf course, and ski areas. From the end of April until October 31, Toya-Onsen puts on a nightly fireworks show that you can view from the Rotemburo (outdoor hot springs bath). The Hotel Kawanami is a wonderful place to visit. We don't have room service, but instead of it you can stay cheaper than other same class accommodations. Please enjoy a slow and calm time in here!

Our all guest rooms are Japanese style (Tatami and futon style bed) and electronic move toilet ensured (toilet with bidet). Rooms are face to lake.
You can use public indoor and out side hot springs all day.
All rates are accommodation only.
If you need breakfast and dinner, please ask about it at
Reception desk when your arrival. We can prepare dinner from 1000 yen and breakfast from
800 yen.
Convenience store is just next door.

It takes 2 hours (99km) from New Chitose air port (Sapporo) by car (via Lake Shikotu).

It takes 50 minutes from Niseko by car.

My wife and I have a great time staying in this hotel. Good location to go sight seeing and enjoyed the hot spring facilities. Breakfast and dinner were great.

My wife and I aged 54 and 60 spent two nights at Hotel Kawanami occupying a Japanese style room which we loved.
The check in was great and on my wife's suggestion the English speaking receptionist gave us a choice of three rooms. Our room was spotlessly clean, large and well appointed with a lovely view over Lake Toya. There is a nearby convenience store that is open 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
The room had a wash basin and Japanese Hi-Tech toilet and for showering you use the hot baths (Onsen) which were very adequate: if you bear the hotel cost in mind you could say excellent. The outdoor warm pool you could say was fantastic.
On our full day staying at Hotel Kawanami we took a drive to Noboribetsu Spa and sampled the walks, hot stream footbath, volcanic areas and Onsen there. It was a very relaxing day.
We were sorry to leave Hotel Kawanami and Lake Toya and hope to be back one winter's day.
