grcorti For the price range the rooms are good and the area very peaceful. There was no internet service available which was one of my main reasons for choosing it (was there for work!), but this wasn't their fault and they were chasing up their provider everyday, so it's likely to only be a temporary situation. The hosts were all very friendly, very welcoming and very helpful. However the location is well away from the town centre or areas of interest; taxis are pentiful and cheap so this is not a problem but there is very little of interest, restaurants or shops locally.

Nicole.webster2 Pink Hostel is a great place to meet positive people staying in Ghana for a variety of different reasons although many are part of volunteer programs. The outside bar and restaurant facilities offer many opportunities to talk with others and local staff, as does the free breakfast (which is pretty good!). Without a doubt Pink Hostel is one of the cleanest places I've stayed in Ghana and the quality of the rooms is very good. Unfortunately the electrical circuits were not grounded in one of the rooms I stayed in - literally a shocking experience and I felt a detail that should have been taken more seriously considering the amount of money that Pink Hostel charge for a room. In addition, although the rooms are sprayed for mosquitoes and screens were placed over the bathroom windows as an added precaution, there was a huge gap between the wall and the screen which would allow mosquitoes through should the chemical solution fail - again a detail that should have been attended to. The staff are mostly really great with one or two stand-out stars in customer service who manage to achieve the perfect balance between being professional yet friendly (Godfred, it's you!). Disappointing to be harassed by a junior member of staff to put money in the tip box as I left. The guy was really persistent and I felt that the aggressive under-tone was more suited to a street vendor than someone working in a paid position at an international hostel. Overall, Pink Hostel is a good place to stay in Accra and I think that mostly the management and staff are really trying to 'do things better' and provide a great place for international travellers to stay. It is certainly worth considering if you are looking for a place to stay in Accra.
