Sheilamf I researched and booked Valentino Apartments and Studios, in Bali, Crete on the Internet. I have been to Bali before and was aware of the location and accommodation ratings before booking. On arrival we were met by Christos who assisted us to our top floor apartment and showed us around. We had a choice of a balcony and terrace with stunning panoramic views of the village, mountain range and sea. We were greeted by his wife, Nikki, who presented us with a plate of home made baking and the couple were very friendly and welcoming. The apartment is traditional in decor giving you that Cretan feel, clean and homely with all the amenties required and everything stated on the site was accurate. It was cleaned everyday when we were out, towels and linen were changed when needed, running hot water all day which is unusual for traditional properties, air-conditioning included in the price and the furniture and bedding was comfortable. The location of the property is in the traditional part of the village on a high setting with several steps to climb, therefore would not recommend for people with walking or breathing problems, but if you take your time it can be done with ease. We had a hired car from the airport and parking is available across from the property or around the back road leading to Evita Bay. I would definately rebook Valentino Apartments and Studios again on my next visit to Bali, Crete regardless of the steps as everything else was perfect and exceeded our expectations.
SteveXNZ A perfectly acceptable guesthouse, and good value for money. A few little things would have improved our stay: - not easy to find when approaching town from the north as the sign isn't visible. If you hit town, turn around, head north for 300m, and you'll see it on the right - if you ask for a double room, expect to have two single beds pushed together - the restaurant/wifi facilities are separated from the accommodation block. Don't expect to be in wifi range from your room - as with many economical guesthouses in this part of the world, they don't do an electric boost of the solar hot water. Shower in the evening if you want any warmth in the water - customer service could be improved, but it's adequate.
macnee.dan Great place to stay in a really beautiful area. Lots of great walking and swimming in the area. Chris the owner was very helpful and really keen to make sure everyone had a good time.
