fab.forty Hello ppl! I stayed here for a week. The overall service is good. Caretaker/Owner is very friendly. You can afford upto home made food made in their home! The location is 1km from Vishwanath Temple. But reaching the hotel is difficult. You need to get through passages/alleys (100m offset from main road), so night time would be difficult. Not many hotels nearby but tea kiosk and chat stalls are available. This is close to a big mall (you can find all atms nearby) and Ramakrishna Ashram Hospital, that medicates at negligible cost. You need to be careful with drinking water though. Not only in this hotel, but everywhere! Actually I had tough time with diarrhea. Some people may find problem with milk taste, since it is pure cows milk. You've Mishra Mess opposite, where you can get unlimited meals at 70rs. During my stay, I had food and all guidance from Mr. Sagar & his dad, who is the owner/caretaker. All commutation is by cycle-rickshaw-10rs/km is reasonable.

karinaguzz It is a wonderful place. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room as clean and very comfortable, and the patio upstairs has a gorgeous view of the Ganges. Plus, the food was incredible!

gagandeva My wife and I stayed at the Suraj Guest House recently. Everyone knows how in-your-face Benares is and so it was awesome to find a simple, quiet, clean and central guest house with an honest guy running it. After a phone call the owner arranged for the rickshaw to drop us near the guest house, and one of the workers, who was waiting for us helped carry our luggage to the place. They made us feel very welcome and part of the family. Be prepared for power cuts though and book ahead as it's pretty busy. Enjoy
