Day one they were not ready for us. Four of us , twos rooms booked but the rooms were not ready even at 4pm thats the time when we checked in and we booked our rooms atleast three months before. The room that we got started leaking water from the aircon. Got our rooms change but to a two single bed us we were a coule. Than next day we got another room which was much better. Breakfast was inc and that was alright.

It is located at the Petaling Market street. Although it is directly in the market it is remarkably quiet.
When the market is taking place no chance to get there by taxi. You have to pass the market with your luggage - a little unconfortable.

The Inn is surprisingly clean, and the crew courteous. However, my bad experience came as we were about to check-out. The girl at the counter who did the paper work for our checking out (Saturday, June 27 at 3:00am) said that the taxi to KL Sentral is worth RM30. When I complained about the said rate, she said it was because of the nightly differential rate. Our friends who got their cab from the much farther Legend Hotel paid RM15 for their cab. Such dishonesty should not be tolerated as it drives future tourists away.

D'Oriental is good value for the money. Do not expect good food as it is too "fast foodish" and expensive relative to what can be bought on the streets.
The television choice is minimal. In other words there is no international reception.
If you are a swimmer, as I am, the location is perfect. It is only 5 minutes walk to the Chin Woo pool which is open Weekdays from 1400 to 2000 and weekends and holidays from 0900 to 1700.
The service is good the staff very friendly and as I have already said good value for the money.

Great hotel for the price, aslong you don't mind staying on the main market street in China town. Very loud street, and a lot of "interesting aromas" and constant hastle from salesmen. But the actual hotel was great, friendly staff, free internet and breakfast.

Right in the midst of busy KL China Town, D'Oriental Inn was overall a great place to stay.
Staff were very polite and informative. 24 hour reception is handy for those who may be checking in or out at unusual times.
Room was quite clean if not just a little bit stale smelling. I put the "staleness" down to being in a room with no window....but not a major deal. Hot water provided in most, if not all rooms. A private ensuite with bathroom and toilet. There was no fridge in our room and not sure if they provide them in other rooms.
D'Oriental is not the cheapest place in China Town to stay BUT it does provide a whole heap of free inclusions, which I believe is worth paying the slightly higher price. These include - Free WiFi in room, Free Wifi throughout the hotel, Free bottled water in your rooms every day, Free breakfast which goes from 7:30am to 10:30am every day and includes, eggs, toast, beans, rice, noodles, juice, tea, coffee etc.
Very close to public transport, Pasar Seni train station being just a 2 minute walk away. Very easy (and cheap) to travel to other parts of KL by train or mono-rail. The famous China Town night market is lierally right on your door step as you walk out the hotel.
The only flaw that I think is worth mentioning - it's not very quiet in the room. I was located on the 1st floor and found that from 9am to 11pm every day, I could hear music pumping from the clothing shop below. Also noise seems to travel pretty clearly from doors shutting, cleaners vacuming etc. Luckily I'm a heavy sleeper.
All up I would reccomend D'Oriental to those that don't mind being in the busy fast pace that KL's China Town offers. I am staying there again for anothr 5 nights between travelling to India. The free wifi, great service and excellent breakfast is worth the slightly higher price than other budget accomodation.
