It is located in the heart of the open air museum Istanbul, in the historical Sultanahmet area. It is ideal for visiting by foot the oldest and the most important Byzantine and Ottoman monuments of Istanbul, such as St. Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, Turkish and Islamic Art Museum, Basilica Cistern, Archaeologicial Museum and not more than 15 minutes to Grand Bazaar and spice market.
It is constructed of smoothly hewn yellow, pink and beige stone from cappadocia. , and unbelievable quality of wood work like an ottoman wooden houses ... All the rooms are decorated in the warm old style of old mansions of Istanbul. But you will not miss the modern comfort of the 21.th century. All the rooms are equipped with central heating, big shower, toilet, air-condition, double glazed windows, hairdryer, direct dial telephone ...
Come to our terace to experience the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises, to enjoy the marvelous view of the Marmara sea ,you can enjoy traditional Turkish breakfast with hand made jams with watching see gulls and the fishing boats on the Marmara Sea in our great sea view terace.Especially night time you would feel great on the terrace under exotic atmosphere of the ancient city.
We offer single, twin, double ,triple and rooms for 4 peoble with full tile big private bathrooms. Our rooms have big double glazed windows, the rooms on the upper floors with the view of Marmara Sea to Asia and Princess Islands or great city view with full of old churches and mosques together. All of our rooms are non-smoking rooms and they all have nice balconies.

It was a little bit difficult to find at first but once you learn how to move in zig zag streets of Sultanahmet, everything is as easy as find the big mosques. There is no elevator which could be a problem if you are in the third floor. The rooms are just awesome! very clean, well-equipped, styled, the staff is 24hrs helpful and the price is reasonable in comparison with most hotels in the city. I totally remommend it.

The Saruhan hotel can definitely be recommended. Only positive things cross my mind when I look back on our stay there: clean, value for money, decent breakfast, superb staff, great view from the roof, ... The surroundings are nice and fairly authentic. The small park nearby is an ideal spot for watching Istanbul life and sipping on a cup of tea. Bear in mind that the city centre (blue mosque etc.) is a short, though steep, walk away.

Overall well priced 3 star accommodation in a handy location to all the sights of Sultanahmet. Good sized rooms with good en-suite facilities. The young staff are very helpful and friendly and speak good english.
Nice continental breakfast with pleasant views over the Marmara sea.
If we ever return to Istanbul, would definitely stay here again.

Linen was really good quality in the rooms on the top floors; not as good on the bottom floor rooms. However, the rooms on top are very light so if you can't sleep with lots of light, go to the bottom rooms. Also, you can hear the Muslim prayers at 6 am from these top rooms.
Service was pretty good and location too.
They're installing flat screens so that should be up and running very soon for everyones' enjoyment after a hard day exploring.
If you want scambled eggs or orange juice for breakfast, you have to pay extra!!
Free pick-up from the Sultanamet train station was on foot so beware if you have a lot of luggage!!
Overall, the hotel is good value for money, if you just want the basics.

What a wonderful place to stay - a real home from home. Our room was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable with a fantastic view of the sea and parts of Istanbul and the islands. We loved being able to enjoy breakfast and sundowners on the rooftop terrace. The owners and staff members were wonderful and accommodating in seeing to all our needs whether they were travel arrangements, dinner suggestions, maps and directions, shopping, access to the Internet or just information about modern-day Turkey.
We have no hesitation in recommending the Sarahun Hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

The staff was incredibly helpful in arranging last minute changes in our travel itineraries. They were quick in responding to inquiries before we arrived, and delightful in helping us navigate Istanbul.
The area surrounding the hotel is charming and away from the tourist hustle and bustle. The breakfast is delicious and filled with local delights. The view from the rooftop terrace is worthy of postcards and could be enjoyed prior to and after a long day of touristing. We would recommend this charming and well run hotel (although it lives more like a guesthouse) to anyone interested in experiencing the best of Istanbul.
