When I first arrived at the Jas hotel they had no record of my booking and said I had no room. This was at 5am and I had just flew into Trivandrum from London so was very tired and did not like the prospect of finding another hotel at that hour. After some arguing with the help of an Indian friend I was given a room, with no lights, air con or even the standard fan. I complained and so staff tried to fix the problem, after many failed attempts I was moved to a room with a door that did not close, nevermind lock I was told to put a chair behind the door to stop any intruders and to gain privacy. Tired, I agreed to the room, the following day I was promptly moved to another room which was clean and comfortable with all facilities working well. If it wasn't for my first night experience I wouldn't be too unhappy with the hotel but I do think it is far overpriced.
