tonywr We had already paid our money by the time we read some bad reviews about Ester, and chose to continue anyway. We had a family room, with a king bed and two singles with its own bathroom. The matresses were good and firm. I was travelling with my wife and two children. The room had a safe, a fridge, and the shower and toilet were clean. There were some loud tourists at times but I have earplugs for that sort of thing, and the rest of the family don't seem to care and sleep through it. All in all, the place provided us with exceptional value. The location is superb, only a few hundred metres from the main Train station and bus terminal. The best supermarket in florence seems to be just across the road (a little closer to the station but before McDonalds - deceptively hidden, looks more like a bank) The best gelati can be found at Grom or Festival of Gelato. You don't necessarily need to buy a ticket on the Florence tourist bus. We took bus 12/13 to the best view of Florence and that cost 5 Euro a ticket for 24 hours of use. All in all, I would stay at the Ester again.

eliana_testa My Friends' location is very convenient, a few steps from the train station and really near Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi gallery... walking distance to almost every hotspot in Florence. Owners are very charming and welcoming people, willing to give you tips and advice to get around the city. They are just great. I would come back any time ! Thank you !
