HebWitch Short Stop is pretty good value for the city of Florence. Its close to the Duomo and really walking to everywhere else was not a problem. The apartment itself was fine if you're used to budget accomodation. It has a small kitchen area, a table & chairs and a double bed in the main room and three beds in a second room and a shower room. It was a little under equipped in my opinion, but fine for a short stop and probably no problem for groups ( we were travelling with kids and trying to cook most meals to keep costs down). It was quite difficult to find, go up Via Nazionale from the train station and when you see a launderette and supermarket on the left hand side of the road, its in the building opposite and you have 3 flights of stairs to climb! There's a computer with 24hr internet access in the hostel accross the landing, run by the same people. I can't really comment on the staff - friendly enough, but being in the apartment we didn't really see them. All in all, good value and no problems.

eliana_testa My Friends' location is very convenient, a few steps from the train station and really near Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi gallery... walking distance to almost every hotspot in Florence. Owners are very charming and welcoming people, willing to give you tips and advice to get around the city. They are just great. I would come back any time ! Thank you !
icehermain It's so difficult to discribe our joy and surprise in words when we entered this comfortable, toasty place, especially after the previous stay in a simple and crude hostel in Rome. We've been helped a lot by the host here. The restaurant they recommanded was perfect. Everything here had been so nice that we regret our short stay.

stellygl If you just look for a clean and simple place with affordable price...that's it. Advantages: The room is clean and quiet. The shared bathroom is clean and spacious , comparing to other mini bathroom I had in Europe budget hotels, which are usually very very small...The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The price is reasonable: the twin beds are for Eur65/night with shared bathroom. I was very happy to find my room is attached with a lovely balcony. Disadvantages: the location is slightly away from the old city centre..I need to take bus#20 or #28 to the old city, which will take about 15-20mins. But it is okay with me as the bus comes in a few mins. Another thing I would complain is the that there is no water spary holder on the wall in the bathroom....So I have to hold it by myself during shower...it was a little incovenient... Anyway, bascially i am quite satisfied with this room during my 2 nights stay over there....

dietrich.h Our stay was in every way absolutely perfect. We enjoyed it being there and there was nothing we did not like or we missed in Academy Hostel. Especially we liked the aperitif in the evening, where many guests sat together and exchanges their experiences with travelling or interests. At this hostel you will find a great atmosphere and a lot of friendly people. If we will come back to Firenze we won't hesitate to stay at Academy Hostel.
