We're the most popular hostel in New York, as voted for by Hostelworld customers in 2011! We were also rated the #3 hostel in the USA for February 2012 here on Hostelworld.
We're located in a newly renovated classic loft-type building. There are free bedside lockers in each dorm; please bring your own padlock. Private rooms with shared bathrooms share only with the other private rooms.
We have a free breakfast, plus a free BBQ every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in summer and autumn. There's free fondue every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday during winter and spring!
Our super clean and friendly hostel gets a lot of great guests and features free Wi-Fi and computers with internet, plus more.
We have 24hr reception and check-in, with no curfew. Hablamos español, en serio!
From here it's just 10 minutes to Union Square and 15 minutes to Times Square. The L train subway is only two blocks away.

+ clean
+ 24h reception
+ no curfew
+ very large rooms
+ no bunk beds
+ included breakfast (as much as you want, but not very healthy)
+ close to a subway station
+ free WiFi
+ vending machines
+ free lockers (bring your own lock)
+ TV room
+ backyard
+ seems to be a safe area around (lights always on)
+ easy access to manhattan
+ sometimes free BBQ ( 3 times a week, as much as you want)- expensive for brooklyn

Great location, hip area, cool building. One of the best hostels around, and my first choice when visiting NYC.

Although I have not stayed a kind of Domitories before, I think this is quite good.
The bed room has much space and clean. Shower and toilets are also.They have a house keeping service once a week or so.And the best point is a kitchen.It is very very nice kitchen.Comfortable and wide opened clean kitchen.Beside the kitchen there is a living room which goes to the front garden.Big size(40 inch or more) TV available.Internet(20min/$2).Phone booth.Piano.Bending machine.Now they are making a bar(was under construcution).
