The reason we set up Touran Backpacker Hostel is all about hosting backpackers from all around the world, sharing interesting stories. Touran, as usual, is always a cozy and warm home for your journey.
Then, let\'s get back to Hangzhou, the most comfortable and relaxing city in China. As we Chinese saying, \'Hangzhou is like the paradise on the earth\'. If you just got one day in Hangzhou, it will be all about the West lake, just inscribed on World Heritage list by UNESCO.
If you got couple days, you\'ll have more opportunities in searching the combination of ancient Chinese culture and picturesque landscapes. Numerous temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens and ornamental trees can be found everywhere in Hangzhou.
Here are some landscapes we highly recommend,
---West lake (12 minutes\' walk from Touran)
---Hangzhou zoo(with Panda!!) and Tiger Spring (10 mins on foot)
---Linyin Temple (15 mins by bus, or cycle tour is also great)
---Longjing Tea Fields (actually, we are surrounded by hills and tea fields)
---Museums, such as Tea museum, Silk museum, Printing museum, TCM museum, china museum (all within 25 mins by bus)
Others like Leifeng pagoda, Six Harmony Tower, Hu\'s Garden are also must sees in Hangzhou.
And you can also join our one-day trip to ancient Chinese water towns, like Wuzhen, Xitang which are nearby Hangzhou.

I stayed at the Hostel for 3 nights during the Chinese New Year. The Hostel is a gem of a place, and only 15 minutes to West Lake and parts of downtown. Upon arrival, I was impressed with the style as it appeared homely. Inside, there is a foyer with seating for a communal area, a pool table and access to computers via the internet. They even had animals running around, a dog, a rabbit and two siamese cats which was entertaining. My single room was a good size with en-suite bathroom and was priced very reasonable. Though the Hostels offer of "one night free" had been terminated the week before, I was still accommodated and only paid for 2 nights! I was really happy to say the least. The room was clean and facilities good. Unfortunately, they do not offer tours directly, but will assist in booking these for you if you request. There is a small supermarket closeby as well as the Hangzhou Zoo. Liefang Pagoda is a short distance away also.
I also found the staff very very helpful. Tony and Emilia had gone out of their way to provide support and assistance. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. As I travelled in the winter, they provided more blankets and took an interest in my welfare and comfort. They also have fantastic English, and made the whole process smoother. I cant praise Tony and Emilia enough, as they were both great hosts, along with their Supervisor Kenny.
I would recommend the Hostel to anyone, as they get what they pay for. Its a god spot to meet other travellers, who are also in the same boat as us.

The facility is a very convenient an extremely worth for value of money. Cheap and staffs are very helpful in anything needed, asked or not asked, they provide their help whole heartedly. It is however not located within walking distance to any entertainment or eating places, but has very convenient network of transportation, that other advantages makes this not a problem to stay this.

It has been great beeing here. It is just 15min walk from the lake, which is very convenient. The rooms are nice, with lockers, and very clean. Staff is very kind and welcoming, you really feel homy here. If I come back to Hangzhou I will definitely come back!!!

While the location is a little further away from the west lake scenic area, it is actually a very clean and quiet little hostel. There are not many food places around, but it is located near the mountainous areas which had easy access to short morning treks very easily that gave great views of the surrounding areas.
