In the heart of Manhattan we created a calm, cozy and intimate atmosphere where you can relax and really feel at home. Urban Oasis is a small and homely place with a limited number of rooms and guests so if you want a quiet place, personal attention and good accommodation at a reasonable price, book with us.

Most of our rooms are spacious by New York standards and have huge loft-style windows looking onto the Empire State Building (superior twin rooms) or historic buildings of 5th Avenue and 31st Street (superior and deluxe double rooms). However, if you are on a tight budget, and do not care about size and view, we also offer smaller rooms with lesser or no views for a cheaper price (standard and basic double rooms). See detailed rooms description below.

Note: Urban Oasis is essentially a youth hostel and our facilities are not suitable for guests over 60 years of age.

Superbly located on 31st street at 5th Avenue in the center of Manhattan, Urban Oasis is close to all public transportation (trains 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, E, N, R, Q, W; buses M2, M3, M6, M7), right in the middle of exquisite New York shopping, and within walking distance to many of New York hot spots. Our immediate neighborhood is full of shops, cheap eateries, restaurants, cafes, and you'll have easy access to the best nightlife spots as well.

POLICIES AND CONDITIONS

Only guests with valid online reservation will be accepted.

All arrivals will need to provide arrival time.

TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RATES SHOWN.

We do not accept kids under the age of 16.

Guests have to be at least 18 years of age to check in without an adult guardian.

Valid photo ID required upon check in.

Note: Urban Oasis is essentially a youth hostel and recommended for age groups 18-55 years.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT BOOKINGS FROM GROUPS BIGGER THAN 4 PERSONS, even if rooms are reserved separately.

Luggage drop-off: from 9:00 AM

Check-in to room: 2:00 PM-11:00 PM

Check out of room: by 11:00 AM

NO CHECK-IN AFTER 11PM.

As we do not have a traditional 24-hour front desk, as well as out of courtesy to our other guests, we ask that all check-ins occur before 11:00 PM. No check-ins after 11:00 PM, no exceptions.

Customers that have an evening flight should reserve with us at their own risk. (Late cancellation fee of 1 night charge will still apply if guest is not able to reach us by 11:00 pm) Note: it takes at least 2 hours to get to Midtown Manhattan from the airports counting from the time of landing.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Urban Oasis maintains a strict cancellation policy.

For cancellations up to 7 days before arrival there will be no additional charge.

Cancellations within less than 7 days of arrival date will incur a late cancellation fee equal to the full rate (including taxes) of the first 3 nights of the reservation.

In case of a no show or cancellation within less than 24 hours of scheduled arrival the full balance of the stay (including taxes) will be charged.

Deposits are non-refundable.

If customer provided invalid contact information when making the booking, and no valid contact is received from customer, their card will be pre-authorized for the first 3 nights of the stay 7 days prior to arrival. If the card cannot be pre-authorized, the reservation will be canceled 7 days prior to arrival.

There is a 5 nights minimum stay unless otherwise noted. Cancellation of single nights less than the minimum will not be allowed. The whole booking, however, may be canceled as a whole.

Changes:

After a reservation is made, we are not able to switch room types. Changes to reservations can be made through guest's personal MyWorld account (with cancellation protection bought from Hostelworld at the time of booking, login information in confirmation email). Changes are subject to availability and minimum stay restrictions.

Room types:

Superior double: spacious with king-size (198 x 203 cm) bed and huge loft-style window looking onto the historic buildings of 31st Street/5th Avenue.

Superior twin: spacious with huge loft-style window and view to the Empire State Building. Two separate single beds.

Deluxe double: medium size room with large window, king size (198 x 203 cm) bed, flat screen TV. View to 31st Street /5th Avenue or 31st Street/backside.

Standard double: small but cute and bright room with full size (137 x 190 cm) bed. Good choice if you don't care about size and want to save a couple of bucks. Because of the bed size, it is best for couples. View to 31st Street.

Basic double: this room is dark (interior window, no view) that is why it is so cheap! Comes with a full size (137 x 190 cm) bed and a remote control air condition/fan which helps air circulation. Good choice if you don't plan to stay too much in your room, want to save a lot on accommodation but want a clean and nice space. Because of the bed size, it is best for couples.

Individually controlled air conditioning in all rooms.
