Carlton-Europe's Hotel rooms have been appointed in a fashion that suits the ranging desires of our business and tourist clientele. The 75 uniquely furnished rooms offer everything you desire: Bath or shower, radio, cable TV, telephone, hair dryer, safe and electric kettle. Rooms can be booked for smokers or for non-smokers.

Superior rooms Large and generous, these rooms look out over the country-side or Interlaken's famous mountain panorama. You can choose between "Laura Ashley" style or traditional and elegant style in light tones.

Standard rooms newly renovated, these new rooms with their old wooden floors have retained the classic and charming style of old.

Guests can also enjoy food at Restaurant Wein- and Steakhaus with bar and grill specialties, Shalimar with Indian and Pakistani specialties and the restaurant Chez Pierre with French touched gourmet cuisine and Johnny’s Bar Dancing. You can also take a rest at our “Oberländer Wellness-Dörfli” with saunas, steam bath, Kneipp basin, adventure showers and a relaxation area.

For more than 40 years, "Johnny’s Bar-Dancing" has been a popular choice for artists, musicians, DJs and locals as well as hotel guests.

By Foot

The Carlton-Europe lies on the quiet end and next to the Interlaken EAST Station (Warning: there is a WEST and an EAST station) of the main shopping street, Interlaken's famous Höhenweg.

To find it, simply walk down the main street in the direction of Interlaken EAST station. You will find it 200 m before the station on the right hand side.

By Train

The closest main city is BERN. Once in Bern, you can find several trains every hour that will go to Interlaken.

There are also several direct connections from Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin (ICE), Karlsruhe, Mainz, Köln, Düsseldorf Amsterdam, München and Prague.

Your final destination will be INTERLAKEN OST (East) station. NB// there is an OST and WEST station!!

By Plane

The closest international airport is Bern's BELP International, one hour away by train/car.

If you fly into Zürich or Geneva, you will be 2.5 hours away by train/car.

By Car

There are many online maps that will help you plan your itinerary.

You can approach Interlaken from 3 directions:

- Via Bern. This is the easiest, straight on the auto-bahn, well sign-posted.

- Via Luzern/Brünig-pass. Sinuous mountain road.

- Via Brig but one must load one's car on the train to pass through the mountain. Loading costs 30 CHF each way.
