Without a doubt, the worst possible stay on the entire vacation in Italy. The location was fine although Corniglia isn't my first choice of the 5 towns in Cinque Terre. All the cliches were in evidence for the WORST POSSIBLE STAY: our room was essentially in a basement even though we had clearly booked another room as the photos on this website had shown. A conversation with the Proprietor about this discrepancy resolved nothing as she blamed her mother for this oversight and was willing to give a discount on the NEXT time we booked with them. No apology and no offer of reducing our nightly rate. That wasn't the worst aspect. The bathroom was unclean-by that statement I will clarify by pointing out the toilet bowl had not been scrubbed and there was long hair strands on the bathroom walls in real obvious locations. We didn't even want to sit on the toilet seat let alone use the shower which had its own issue. There was mould around the kitchen sink competing with another unclean backsplash area. We looked at the thrift store decor and tired, mismatched linens and assumed someone had furnished the suite with their leftovers from several places. On the final day of our stay, we asked if we could see the other suite we had booked months ago-a reasonable request. You would think the other suites shown on the website would also be open to view as a comparison but the Proprietor wouldn't show us anything. She just wanted her money (in cash too). After observing her home which, by the way, looked like she knew how to cater to her clients' comfort (nicely furnished and clean), I got the distinct impression I had just been fooled by a charlatan. As of this writing, a few weeks have passed since we were there so I have had the benefit of thinking about the situation. It is my opinion that Corniglia Dream Rooms is a lie.

The rooms were fairy basic, but quite adequate. The views were spectacular. A few steep steps up from the town centre, but worth the climb! There are restaurants and coffee bars close by for meals.
