It is located in the heart of Tuscany exactly halfway between Florence (35 Km far) and Siena (40 Km far)and at only one hour's drive from Pisa and the sea. The world famous mediaval town of San Gimignano is only 18 Km far away and Certaldo, birthplace of the medieval writer Givanni Boccaccio, is only 10 minutes’ drive.

The centre of Firenze is easily reachable by train, the train station being in Certaldo with several trains leaving to the city almost at every hour.

The house dates back to the 18th century and used to be part of a bigger estate surrounded by vineyards and olive trees.

It was completely restored in 1990 maintaining its original character and architecture.

The rooms are on the first floor. They have floors in Tuscan cotto and ceilings have open beams and entresols in cotto in the tuscan country fashion.

Each room has its private bathroom with shower and there is also a shared kitchen available for all guests.

The ground floor is taken up by a small restaurant where you may have the opportunity to taste the most typical dishes of the tuscan cooking tradition, such as the "fiorentina steak", in a very friendly and familiar atmosphere.

In summer dinner is served on a terrace ("aia") that has a superbe and magnificent view over the tuscan "rolling hills" and from where you may admire unique and amazing sunsets.

Breakfast (homemade bread and cakes, butter, marmalade, ham, salami, coffee, milk and orange juice) is upon request and costs 6 Euros per person.

Cleanings and changing of the towels to be provided every three days.

From highway A1: exit at Firenze Certosa and then turn right and take the "Palio" motorway to Siena.

Exit at Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and follow the indications to the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (about 5 Km far from the exit).

In Tavarnelle, take the turning on the right towards Marcialla-Certaldo.

At Marcialla turn right towards Fiano. At Fiano turn left towards Certaldo. After about 1 km you will see Casachianti on your right.
