L'Ospitale delle Rifiorenze is a cheap hostel in the centre of Florence, in the popular and historical neighbourhood of San Frediano. A ten minute walk from Ponte Vecchio and the train station, l'Ospitale is a quiet, curios, simple and unpretentious place. It represents a different Florence, against the mass tourism of the town. In Florence is the only one of its kind.

The Hostel is located in the Carmine complex, in the great halls of the Ancient Library of the Convent of Santa Maria del Carmine. The rooms have been obtained thanks to prefabricated structures for a total of 80 seats. There is also a big hall, the 'Tacca' Hall, a 120 sqm space available for events of any kind.

The Carmine complex has a double face: in the warm months (April-October) the Cooperative Ospitale hosts national NAD international travellers, organizes exhibitions, concerts, events and houses courses of yoga, capoeira, and theatre; in the winter months the Caritas offers hospitality to the homeless for the project the 'Cold Emergency', which l'Ospitale delle Rifiorenze supports economically.

Over the years l'Ospitale delle Rifiorenze dedicates itself to responsible tourism.

By train

From the central train station Santa Maria Novella (900m): bus number 11, 36, 37. Get off at the second bus stop in via de' Serragli, then go to piazza del carmine and search the number 19...you are near the corner and you have just to turn, here you have the OSPITALE, piazza Piattellina 1!!

from there you can also come by walk trough via dell'albero, via maso finiguerra, via di melegnano, vespucci's bridge, all straight up to via dell'orto when you go left and at the end you find OSPITALE and piazza piattellina!
