Chilling-out is an art-form at Paradise Beach Hostel.
The first authentic island beach backpackers in the magnificent Gulf of Naples, we’re perched on the “the most beautiful thermal island in the world”, overlooking Capri, Mt Versuvius, and the Sorrento Penninsular. The first real experience you’ll find in your Italian travels – real friends, real activities, real views, real reviews, real atmosphere, real fun!
All our rooms look out over the sea towards distant islands in west, with the sun shining on us for 16 hours a day! When you arrive you’ll get spotless linen, a secure place for your posessions, an energy-packed breakfast, a cosy bed, clean bathrooms, sassy social socialising spots, help with bookings and travel plans. This island’s just amazing, but our reputation is built by our attention to you and your holiday… and the cool time you’re gonna have…
Sit by the pool and listen to the music, meet friends, go down to the beach, and try the delicious island foods and wines. Ischia has miles of coast and has been doing tourism for 8,000 years. The Romans sunbathed here; the Spanish bathed, the Greeks and French did Greek and French things. You will do what they did. And, we have free wifi, as well.
Sip bubbly in hot springs, bbq on the beach, and enjoy the best bruschetta and wine in Italy at the top of the island, at a hidden, cheap, local restaurant.
We’re 40 minutes by boat from Naples, and you can get to us easily (and cheaply) from Sorrento, Capri, Pozzulli, Procida and Rome. We’re a hostel run by New Zealander, an Australian, and a really cool Austrian girl (who secretly wants to be from the South Pacific).
And then, sitting with friends, a cocktail and a BBQ, watching the sun dip into the Mediterreanenan, you’ll appreciate this irony… at Paradise Beach Hostel, the sun never truely sets!
So, what are you waiting for??? Book your sunset here today…
All our rooms have ensuite bathrooms, free linen and we clean them each day. Our showers are hot, our drinks cold and our staff are cool.
Sadly, only girls can pick female-only dorms (6 bed, 4 bed and 3 bed, depending on what's available) but everyone can choose a mixed dorm of 6 or 4 beds (also depending on availability). You can choose a twin room, a double or a single too.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
We're a pretty flexible bunch here, some prettier and some more flexible, but the prices quoted and booked by you are DISCOUNTED, and are only valid if you pay cash when checking-in or when booking your extended stay... which we think you'll do! If you choose to use other forms of payment the prices are not discounted and you must pay our Standard Rate, which is an extra 3 € per person per night.
Cancelling: We’ll make sure you have a bed when you arrive and if you don’t want it, let us know so we can resell it. Cancelling without giving us 48-hours notice in advance will probably mean you’ll get charged for 2 nights, but we will try to resell your bed to prevent this.
Check-in: Check-in can be done at anytime but let us know if you will be arriving after 8 pm or before 8 am. We MAY NOT be able to let you into your room until 2 pm (because people will be sleeping in it), but you can leave your bags and do all the check-in formalities, have a drink, a shower, and watch a video, go to the beach, or chat-up one of the locals. Actually, you don't really need a room!!
Check-out: Check-out of your room by noon on the day you are leaving, and bring us your pillowcase so we know which bed needs making. You can leave your bags with us for the day, and you can store them with us if you are returning to stay at a later date.
Oh, and to avoid confusion... a dormitory has more than one bed in it, and you share the room with others who you may not know. But, MOST OF YOU knew that, eh!
TO NAPLES (NAPOLI), trains leave from Rome every half hour and, depending on how much you spend, it takes between 1 and 4 hours. For about 20 € there's an easy 2-hour train, and the ones for roughly 10 € leave 4 times daily.
By plane, you can fly directly to Naples from just about anywhere in the world. And it's much cooler than Rome.
FROM THE MAINLAND, catch a boat across the spectacular Gulf from Naples, Pozzulli, Sorrrento, Procida, the Amalfi Coast or Capri and sail to Ischia Porto, Casamicciola or Forio. From Sorrento and Capri, the fast boats (aliscafi) leave from the Marina Piccola.
FROM NAPOLI CENTRALE RAILWAY STATION, cross the big piazza out the front, passing the eternal Metro construction site, and catch Tram '1' going left (when looking away from the station) to the last stop. On the port side is Molo Beverello where the fast boats (aliscafi) depart.
TO THE CHEAPER BOATS, from Beverello, go behind the cafes, away from the fast boat terminal, and catch the blue shuttle buses to Calata Porto Di Massa (about 5 minutes away)...
WE'LL MEET YOU: We'll see if we can come and meet you. We meet people each day at around 11.30 am and 5 pm, but let us know you're coming, and we can show you how the buses of the island work too.
FROM ISCHIA PORTO, catch the buses numbered 'CS', '1', '2' or '3' to Casamicciola, the first village out of Ischia Porto, and get off at the 'Topless Bar' corner. Either ask someone or press the bell when the bus is over the big hill and on the flat road again running along the seafront. Then...
FROM CASAMICCIOLA PORT, cross the road and go to the bus stop in front of the large village piazza… at the bus stop in front of the village piazza, catch the 'CD', '1', '2' or '3' bus and get off at the 2nd stop, at the 'Topless Bar' corner, 3 minutes later. Alternatively, just walk down the street. Then...
... FROM THE 'TOPLESS BAR' CORNER, the hostel is a 2 minute walk for fit people, and 4 minutes for everyone else. Go up the side street to the end, and turn right. Be careful about traffic passing you on this bit. Look for a blue sign for the villa on the left, saying 'Hotel Di Meglio' and come into reception.
