we went back and stayed again on our return journey. its close to the bridge in a quiet area; it was difficult to find the actual door as there is no big sign just a metal plate on the bell which didn't work when we pressed it. the square that the hostel is in is really nice with a few places to eat at and a market in the morning.the small pizza cafe on the corner was good for take away pizza. the room was great and suited us as a family with a seperate room off our room for the children.

The Vecchia Firenze (Old Florence), situated in the storic center of Florence, newly restored and equipped with lift is located on the third floor within an old building from the 1500s.

It looks onto one of the most beautiful squares in Florence which is full of old artisan and antique shops that render characteristic and charming the quarter named San Frediano.

The Vecchia Firenze offers rooms furnished with high class features such as period furniture original paintings and mirrors in addition to having all the comforts like air conditioning - private bathroom - hairdryer - satellite TV.

So that you can stay in complete freedom at the Vecchia Firenze you will be given the keys. In this way you will be able to come and go as you please, just as if you were at home.

Very near to all the main sights and museums of Florence such as The Old Bridge, Pitti Palace, Boboli Garden and The Uffizi Gallery, the Vecchia Firenze is ideal for a stay which takes in history, art and romanticism.

Monika and her husband were very helpful to us. i would definately recoomend this place to you. oh and the ice cream shop at the new bridge opposite the old one did the best ice cream.
