gordon9973 My wife and I aged 54 and 60 spent two nights at Hotel Kawanami occupying a Japanese style room which we loved. The check in was great and on my wife's suggestion the English speaking receptionist gave us a choice of three rooms. Our room was spotlessly clean, large and well appointed with a lovely view over Lake Toya. There is a nearby convenience store that is open 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. The room had a wash basin and Japanese Hi-Tech toilet and for showering you use the hot baths (Onsen) which were very adequate: if you bear the hotel cost in mind you could say excellent. The outdoor warm pool you could say was fantastic. On our full day staying at Hotel Kawanami we took a drive to Noboribetsu Spa and sampled the walks, hot stream footbath, volcanic areas and Onsen there. It was a very relaxing day. We were sorry to leave Hotel Kawanami and Lake Toya and hope to be back one winter's day.
