jrmann91 The staff at this hostel are great! Very friendly and good at English, they try their best to make you feel at home. We stayed in the mixed dorm - the privacy curtain offers much more privacy than other dorms, and the large lockers they provided were a rare luxury in Japan. The shared common room was a Japanese style tatami floor room, and gave the dorm a very homely feel - great for chilling out in and meeting other travellers. Overall we had a great experience staying at this hostel and will definitely come back next time we visit Kyoto!

s_lourme Very good experience at the guesthouse. Definitely more character than in the overpriced ryokans we tried. Plus friendly and helpful staff, cheap bike rental facility, and public baths just round the corner. Excellent value for money.
notedfilm Chita Guest inn is a small, Japanese style inn. But it is very convenient, staff is kind. I had a good time in kyoto thanks to Chita Guest inn It is a very good place to stay in Kyoto.

ncacaburas IchiEnSou is essentially the perfect hostel if you are travelling to Kyoto. It is spotlessly clean and has a wonderfully warm and relaxing atmosphere. It is located within easy walking distance of sightseeing attractions, fantastic shopping and transport routes. Fantastic place!

porkbun This place is great. The owner is super nice and goes out of his way to help you out. The area is super quiet at night and a little hard to find until you get used to it. You will be using the bus and train to get to things but they're relatively cheap and nearby. You can get a 500 yen day pass for the buses that'll let you ride all day. I highly recommend this guesthouse.
gally48 Very good place, excellent staff, very welcoming Just a little noisy at night because no big walls. I recomand it.

thozic 15.11.2009 I stayed for one week and was very satisfied. It is really a traditional style of accomodation. My room was made each day and about 4 by 3 metres. The toilets were clean but very small. Bathroom was clean and with shower and bathtub - each day filled with water of 43 degress C. Enough fresh towels but maybe a little word down. Ryokan Sanki is really near the subway and just one station from Kyoto Station - which is really excellent organized. For this price you get a value accomodation. Missed internet ;) - they could improve on this one if there is also a TV and water machine for making tea. Didn't use laundry machine - ask if it is possible. Tomaz Hozic

caustic Possibly the best run hostel I've ever stayed in. Facilities were excellent, staff were very well informed and spoke excellent English. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend this joint.
