jerrystein Really nice hostel, very affordable, very clean. The staff is really nice and helpful, and they do speak english [which is not so common in Japan;) ]. You can even rent a bike to go out of Kyoto for almost nothing. I definitly recommand it!

lecampe1 We stayed there for 3 days, the location was pretty good just 5 min walking to Kyoto Central Station (Metro, Buses, JR trains) so you can get anywhere from there. The hostel was very clean and the staff very helpful.
