laura.dunn We spent a quiet new years celebrating in the down stairs living area and then arose to watch the sunrise from the onsen on the top floor looking out over Mt Fuji. It was fabulous. The owners were very helpful and overall it was a great place to stay. Very handy location right opposite the train station too.

bluehorsey Michael`s Hostel is a great, new little hostel located in Fuji-Yoshida, near to the base of Mt. Fuji. The hostel and it`s staff are like a small family and offer extremely accomodating service. The hostel itself - only open for about one week, is clean, offers free internet, showers, laundry (for 200yen), and has a cute little American style pub downstairs which is open for lunch and dinner. Michael, the owner and his wife are wonderful and will treat you like family. The small town atmosphere of the area around the hostel is preferrable to the touristy shuffle of Kawaguichigo, the bigger town where the train currently runs to take visitors towards the mountain. If you are looking for a more authentic style neighborhood with the comforts of home - this is your place.

julian8227 Julian and I were delighted with the friendly and helpful hosts, they could have not done more for us and spoke very good English. The view of Mt Fuji was delightful. The Onsen was wonderful and we would have stayed longer if our time had permitted.
