Mari P. Clean, nice, but the instructions on how to get there are confusing on this website. If you want to stay there, the instructions are right until you see the stone torii. You will have to go up some steps to the torii. From the torii, you will see another set of stairs in front of you, leading up to the Shinto shrine. DO NOT take those steps - the steps to Kagamiya are much closer, on the right (just before the stone foxes), and appear to lead back in the direction in which you came. Also, where the instructions say, 'take the tram to Hotarujaya' - Hotarujaya is the terminal, so it's marked (sometimes in English) on the number 3 trams. It's the tram stop closer to the far side of the street if you're heading there from the station. There are three tram lines that terminate in Hotarujaya, so it's easy to get to most places in Nagasaki from the Kagamiya.

ma_suprita The location is great. The staff is super nice and helpful. They really take care of small details to make the stay more comfortable. In general we really like Nagasaki, there is so much to see, and we enjoy staying at Akari. Great value for money.
