alanchesap Loved the stay. The proprietor very nicely drove me to the boat the last day. I probably confused them with my schedule, going to sleep at 6pm, before they'd even brought the futon. Was a little weird about switching rooms -- the first night I stayed in a small room and the next night in a larger room. I was just as happy in the first room -- the size of the room didn't mean anything to me. The second room did have a sink, which was nice, but the first room had a better air conditioner and it was very warm the two days I was there. Location was fine, as far as I'm concerned, though I'm glad I can read a little Japanese, as I might have walked right past the place. The ryokan is beautiful, right on the lake, with a garden in back, lots of ambiance in the hallways.
