mopey The description doesnt do this place justice, it is an absolute gem with fantstic accomodationa and the food is great. We would definatley stay here again if we we are in the area. The staff are so helpful and couldnt do enough for us. They provide a free shuttle bus to and from Sepilok Orang-utan center also with a free pickup from the bus stop. Overall this is a must stay if you are in the area.

shanesout Sepilok Forest Edge resort is a great spot, out of town and close to some great atractions. The accomidation is simple and afforable. Its most indearing feature is the staff, they are friendly, helpful and are ready to chat about tours in there region, the weather and other atractions in other areas of Sabah.so if your looking for a great place to stay, this is it!

ajlampe The location was great. It's a 2-minute walk to the bus station and close to a hotel pick-up for tours. It also has a great view of the sea from the communal area. It was quiet during our stay, mostly because there were only 5 people checked in due to Hari Raya holiday closure. The staff was helpful in arranging the river cruise tour for us. There were unresponsive to my email requests a few weeks beforehand about a dive trip. Ends up we couldn't do it because of a monopoly on the dive trip islands near Sandakan will not allow or an overnight or a day trip tour for diving (shame on them). Bedrooms were clean (aircon was a bit weak) and the shared bathrooms were okay. We drove to Sandakan from KK and were able to park on the street out front. It is located on a quiet street. An alarm woke us at 4am, but it was the pharmacy next door and as such it sounded like the end of the world was at hand (for 5 minutes). All trips are displayed at reception and if you don't want to plan a tour yourselves by public transport, they are recommended (patience may be required with the tour operator logistics unit). We would stay there again if we go back to Sandakan.

fiona.mulrooney It may take a while to get there and may be unknown to most taxi drivers but the remoteness is wonderful. The chalets are quaint and privately situated on stilts among the forest and mangroves. Unfortunately they have let the boardwalk go into disrepair, so there is nothing to do between visits to the Proboscis Centre.Service is good if you know what to ask for, they will not offer up any information, you must somehow know what to ask for. Don't be fooled into thinking that because this lodge is next to the monket centre that anything will be cheaper or included in your price. They will (without telling you) add the car trip to feeding sessions, the night walk and transport out of lodge to your bill. Nice relaxing stay with only ywo other guests, can get boring, with nothing else to do but the Proboscis monkeys make up for that.
