floranne.p Staff is very kind and helpful. Very close from Auckland downtown. Shops and takeaways just around the corner. A very good place to stay one night or much more =)
rac_off Very helpful and friendly staff. Our only problem was that we were not issued a twin room as asked for.
henryjohnm The kitchen was quite clean with ample room for food storage. The bunk beds were not so good since they rock easily; especially if you have a person who kicks in their sleep beneath you! The washing machine only used cold water?! A little inconvenient if you do not buy cold water washing powder. The Italians were not happy! and neither was I for that matter. Also, there is a little problem with seating in the TV room since I had to stand on occasion and lean against the sofa. This hostel is ok for a few days whilst you get something better fixed. All in all, it's a non-returner.
Nik. The first time in New Zealand, first time in Auckland, first time at Bamber House - you will never find a better start! Enough space and friendly people around there. Time to relax! Enjoy!!!
piedramani The owner is a very nice person. The property is clean and the beds are very confortable. But the kitchen and dinning room is very small, and the fridge is so small and full that you can actually not use it. The window on Room number 7 does not close well, and it very noise because of the common room just above it and the road.
hrkhrk What a wonderful, accommodating hostel! Everyone is so friendly and great! Lovely atmosphere and common area. Good sized rooms. Close to the city and Mt. Eden -- the perfect location. Would stay here time and time again!!
Sander A flagship YHA, with top-notch facilities (especially noteworthy: the awesome industrial strength kitchen). Lacks some atmosphere, though definitely not because of lack of trying by the people at reception. Very useful travel desk, and generally a great place to stay. (Although I last stayed here in Feb 2005, I visited it again to use their travel desk in Jun 2008, and it seemed otherwise to be still as good.)
