JuliaMarie This is one of my favorite places to stay in Nicaragua! La Terraza is the reason I've made 2 trips BACK to San Juan Del Sur, and my third trip is already booked! I stayed at La Terraza in Jan of 2009, and I loved it so much I have been back twice! It's a new building, it's clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. I love the balcony where I lay in the hammock for hours with a good book, and then watch the sunset. La Tarraza really makes you forget that you are traveling in a third world country! The rooms are beautiful, bright and sunny with a wonderful breeze that comes off the ocean. And I was able to cook! There is a full kitchen where I was able to cook my meals, and plenty of fridge space to keep my food. There are only 3 rooms per condo, so even full, the condo only has a few people staying at a time. I loved meeting the other travelers, some of who I made friends with and keep in contact with. This is not a hostel, but it is not a hotel either. It is a guest house that takes all the money generated by the rooms, to support the Explore English School. It is a school that teaches the local children English through art, music, science, etc. This really is a wonderful place I will always remember!
