Enjoy budget accommodation in style. Your backpacking experience comes complete with a guest kitchen and contemporary outside bar that�s stocked with Arabic tea, mojitos 'de puta madre', and local beer and wine.
At Makuto you can indulge in the luxury of two deluxe ensuite rooms. Our super sunny big suite room with high wood ceiling, a little balcony with nice views to the Alhambra and a pretty bathroom; and our four bed ensuite room, sunny and nice. Both rooms share a modern kitchen in the down floor. Have your privacy when you need it but join us in the patio for food and drinks! You can also meet your fellow travellers in 4-6 bed shared dorms with a common bathroom.
Enjoy our amazing Barbecues and Paellas; we are always cooking something up to make you feel at home, or taste a Moroccan shisha pipe in the Chill Out room. Do not forget to join us for a free evening walk through the Albayzin and Sacromonte neighborhoods.

We had a private room with a bathroom and it was very clean and decorated in an eclectic style! Very characterful. It's a fantastic location right in the Albacin, with laid back staff and a friendly atmosphere. There was quite a lot of coming and going during the night (doorbells ringing, people calling out for friends etc etc) so it's not the quietest place and the room was above the front door. We were there in Oct so the end of season feeling was prevalent and everyone was laid back, kind and helpful. It was the same price as a 2/3* hotel room so not a cheap option but it was nice to have a place to hang out in and chat with others when you needed a break from walking the city or just for a friendly nightcap before bed, which you wouldn't get in a hotel.
A disappointment was that our second booking (done on internet through hostal world) was mixed up and Makuto had given our room to someone else and we had to go elswhere. They tried to help us by finding us a hotel room but it was an expensive taxi ride away (which Makuto did not offer to pay) and we also lost our deposit with hostal world. My advice is to phone Makuto directly to make a booking with them as there are obvious problems with the internet booking system.
