Casa Del mar Hotel...is intimate and comfortable, rich with palms and more than 40 other different exotic trees and plants.
It lies directly on the white sand beach in Jambiani on the east coast of Zanzibar, about 50 Km from Stone-Town.
Casa Del Mar Hotel contains 12 rooms, a shop, and a workshop, two tea houses direct on the beach, internet access, and a restaurant which are very artistically designed and furnished.
Casa Del Mar Hotel has 6 big Ground floor rooms, with private bathrooms (with cold/hot water) and balconies.
In addition to that our Hotel provides 6 other rooms in the first floor with an extra sleeping room (gallery), private bathrooms (with cold/hot water) and Terraces.
These rooms are big and spacious (50 sq/m!). All our 12 rooms have sea view.
All our rooms are built out of ecologically friendly, local and traditional materials (wood, coco palms, ...).
They also contain large comfortable beds (king size double beds) with mosquito nets, traditional pieces of furniture, wooden floors, ceiling fans...
All designs and decorations were planed and accomplished by the hotel owners.

*Attention!!! The differences in the room prices are because we have 2 different rooms’ types:
Ground floor and first floor. The first floor rooms are bigger and have a living room and extra sleeping room!! So please see the different in the price

RSSLets begin by saying that ive spent the last decage living and working in Africa and in some pretty scuzzy places so few things suprise me.
However...being held hostage for a couple of hours in your own hotel, shouted at and refused to be addressed in anything but Swahili is not the idyllic holiday experience one expects from such a place.
The location is indeed lovely but amenities and services poor and it is extremely poor value for money.
Cleanliness was cursory, the sheets stained and to small for the mattress. The bed was way to short which ended in both of us cramped up in the feotal position.
Bad design means that hordes of mosquitos come up through the floorboards into ur net and dont expect the staff to do more than hand u a bottle of spray. After 6 sprays the resident beetle living in our net was still going strong! The beds need a mat under them to prevent them getting in. This was a bit much to expect but the staff refused to provide coils to reduce the number of mosquitos in the room itself. Tucking the net in helps but they still get in round the pole.
If something breaks (think fan) it stays broken.
Staff problem-solving skills are seriously limited.
Having not been sick in Africa since 2003 I was food poisoned by their restaurant on the second day. The food bears no resemblance to descriptions on the menu.
If u are determined to go, stay a short while and refuse to pay upfront.
Refunds are not possible and they are not willing to deduct the amount owed back from the restaurant tab no matter how many days advance warning u give - hence the unpleasant hostage situation (we were locked in behind padlocks!)The Blue Oyster or the Coco Beach are better managed and cleaner options along this stretch of beach.

without a doubt the best choice on the east coast, fairly good cuisine and breakfast is great value for money, rooms are superb. if you have the opportunity ask for a room upstairs. Rooms are cleaned every day and bedsheets are replaced every 2 days. dinning place is very cosy and staff is very friendly and will make you feel most welcome.
