Come relax in a peaceful and cozy hotel situated on the best white sandy beach of Zanzibar. Cristal Resort offers affordable accommodation, a well selected menu, swimming pool , diving center ; lots of sunshine, coconut trees, hammocks and amazing tours organized to suit your needs right at the hotel.
We are a small homely hotel with 22 rooms. 9 Deluxe room - 36 meter² individual bungalows, equipped with a four poster mosquito net, air conditioning, fan, spacious bathrooms (with bath tub,) and a terrace with an ocean view. There is also the possibility of adding 2 extra beds.
13 Eco double bungalows (tropical experience - 35 metres²) shower with hot water, ceiling fan, decorated Island/Zanzibar style, private terrace; in these rooms you will get a natural breeze from the ocean! possibility of adding one extra bed.
Room type is not guaranteed.
Be kindly advised: payments at hotel are accepted in cash only, ATM's are only found in stwon town.

This "resort" needs new management, a paint job and whole new make-over. The location is ideal but the accommodation was not worth the money, the mosquito nets were torn, there was no aircon in the room only a fan, which I had to fetch a 10 at night. There were no towels, no complimentary soap, there is no WI-FI in the rooms, the service is dismal and the staff ensure that they make you feel as if they are doing you a favour. The food is dissappointing, there is no hot water in the showers, no shower curtains, the rooms had not been cleaned. There is rubbish strewn upon entry to the "resort", the gardens are unkept, the "spa" has rubble and buckets around as if a building site. The breakfast that is for free should not even be offered. I really cannot recommend this place unless you want to come to Zanzibar and have a very very budget place at an inflated price. The management should be fired and the place should be shut for the raining season to ensure that the place is repaired as it has the potential but just not the right management and staff. We drove from Cape Town in our vehicle and stayed at many places and camped alot so our expectations were not high and were used to bad accommodation and campsites, but this is definitely one of the top three of bad.

Lovely location overlooking the most beautiful beach. Lovely place to relax, rejuvinate the batteries with the locals massage and read a book in a hammock between the palm trees. We were treated of a high standard and didnt expect such high quality for the budget price we paid. Definately recommended and a few days is a must if you like some time out with the sun and water.
