Mavi Onur Guesthouse(hostel) has a few rooms available:
triple, double, twin and a covered rooftop dormitory area. All private rooms have their own private shower, toilet, hair-drying facilities and air conditioning. If necessary, triples can be used as a double.
Our terrace(covered rooftop dormitory), with magnificent views of the Blue Mosque, Princess Islands and Marmara Sea, also offers you a cool and relaxing atmosphere.
Here you can enjoy your while basking in the morning light; sip on a beer on a warm sunny afternoon; or simply take in the friendly environment at any time of day.
We welcome all visitors from around the globe and we would be more than pleased to help you discover the incredibly wonderful city of Istanbul.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES: We welcome travelers of all ages. We ask, however, that travelers over 50 years old book into private rooms, and not shared dorm room and unfortunately there are no elevators and stairs to 4 floor creates problems for some clients (please respect this information)

The owner was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Always cared for us and always on our side (e.g.1 told us to be sure to haggle at the Grand Bazaar, although this info was given in all the guide books, I felt like he was protective of his guests, e.g.2 when the shuttle bus to the airport was late he called the shuttle many times to make sure they have not forgotten us). Never pressured us to buy any tour from him (i.e. he has told us what he can arrange/sell only when we asked) so we rather felt at home than staying in a "business". Last not least, I did like the breakfast and I am a very picky eater...
One thing which can be improved is the heating system. The heater in our room was near the ceiling pointing horizontally, so it was not very efficient, if it was pointing slightly down towards the bed...
