Good location: 7 Eleven is right accross the steet, subway and train stations are within short walking distance. The room seemed a bit shabby, but linen and towels were clean and everything (electicity, lights, heating, desk) worked fine. Shared bathroom was also clean, and well-equipped, except for the shower sprinkle, which should have been repaired. Breakfast is "great" in all senses of the word: you can eat as much as you wish and there is a wide selection both in foods and drinks, offered on a self-service basis. Overall, the building and a staff was nice, and I would definitely return, should I have the chance.

I stayed there with two friends, and the best thing is that all rooms are private! So, you don't have to be warried about if your luggage is a mess ir not! Also, this is more safety because you are sure that no one will have acces tu your stuff and your things!
There are two big bathrooms per floor, one for men and other for women! Each bathroom has several WC and several showers, and they are quiet clean! It wasn't a problem not having a bathroom inside the room!!
Breakfast is great!! You can have whatever you want!!
It also has pool tables, free wi fi, a tv room, and a common space with lots of sofas where you can take your own food to have lunch or to dinner!
I firmly recommend it!!!

I changed my room, the first one was quite ugly, smelled and was and not so clean, the second one was okay. Washing machines, TV-room, free popcorn, breakfast are fine.

I stayed here for 5 nights with a friend while we were travelling around the states.
I really liked the location. Its in Boston's Back Bay which appeared to be a really nice area (really pretty too).
Close to everything you could need - bars, restaurants and about a $10 cab ride down to the wharf.
A lot of people have complained in the reviews about it being a home for the elderly. I did run into a few elderly people which i assume live there but i really dont feel its something to complain about. There were equal amounts of young people there. The staff were friendly. They host a few events and theres always information around the hotel about things to go out and do. They offer cheaper admission to tourist attractions in the area. Ive also read people complaining about the wifi which i dont understand. I stayed on the 7th floor and found the wifi great, so great that we were watching movies online when we went to bed.
I didnt really feel comfortable in the bathrooms, they arnt very private but i guess it just depends on what your standards are.
I would recommend this place to anyone! super cheap accommodation in a over priced city. If i was to go back to Boston i would definitely stay here again.

The hostel foyer is the most pleasant part of it. The rooms seemed clean but the hostel has an overriding smell of disinfectant which gives it an unpleasant institutional feel. There are some permanent residents and therefore a number of older people around. The rooms are pretty noisy and the blind in ours did not work ( no one was interested in mending it). Depending on the shift, the staff varied from totally disinterested to enthusiastic.
The hostel is, however, fairly central and cheap so for a couple of nights is okay.

The place is good, although there's no air conditioner in the rooms and the wheater was very hot.
Breakfast is good but only in the weekends.
There's a lot of elderly people I don't see problems with that though.

Well,
It wasn't great at all. The location is ideal, just a couple min to Boston Common and shopping, but everything else...
The building is 50 years old, and it doesn't seem to have had any improvement or renovation, the room was small and it smelled bad, the beds were uncomfortable, there's no AC, and shared bathroom. The elevator was incredibly slow. The staff is nice and polite but we were and the breakfast was ok too, but we didn't sleep well. I'm sure that for even that price it's possible to get something better.

The hostel is in the center (walking distance from downtown, Prudential, Shouth station). It is not a luxurious hotel, but in my opinion it can meet all esential needs of a traveller including a sefl-service laundry.
