The Skalkaho Poor Farm is nestled in the Bitterroot Valley near Hamilton, Montana. Originally built in 1910, this Skalkaho ('Land of the Beaver') homestead was one of the original farms on the east side of the valley. Over the years its orchard has produced apples, pears, apricots and plums.

Over Skalkaho Poor Farm

The Skalkaho Poor Farm is nestled in the Bitterroot Valley near Hamilton, Montana. Originally built in 1910, this Skalkaho ('Land of the Beaver') homestead was one of the original farms on the east side of the valley. Over the years its orchard has produced apples, pears, apricots and plums. We also raise and train Arabian horses.

NEW This Season!!! Trekking tours available in the gorgeous Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains. Experience the grandeur of Montana Wilderness without the crowds! From 2 hour to 3 day trips, easy to moderate available.

Lodging consists of one dormitory style room with four beds as well as an authentic-style crow tipi for camping with an awe-inspiring view of the Bitteroot and Sapphire Mts. We also have limited availability for a private suite.

There is a common room with stove,microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker . The country atmosphere is sure to provide for a relaxing getaway.
